Rick Hearst and Maura have chemistry with virtually everyone they've ever worked with, and Maura has been paired with a few real blocks of wood on this show. If they don't get Ric and Ava in the sack they're crazy. They've both fucked crazier for less.

I agree: I would say Hearst is probably the first male on this canvas that has had undeniable chemistry with Maura West and Ava. It would be hot... I would just hope that it wouldn't re-damage the Ava & Nina friendship that we just got back on track after is derailed.

I honestly never bought that friendship so I had no problem with Mulcahey dismantling it. But whatever, it's here.

Ric and Ava would be a B or C pairing at best because that is what all pairings with Ric have been for decades. But it would beat many of her other flirtations lol.

So long as Ric didn't leave town again with Ava being knocked up with Ric's third kid. No more babies. #NoBabyGH

I think Ric only works in B or C pairings to be honest.  I don't think Ric is meant to be given leading material.  He works as supporting.  I am ready for the argument that Sonny/Jason shouldn't be leads, but almost every big story or love interest Ric has been given has flopped.  I remember during 2008? (the strike I think) where JFP pushed RH/Ric while Guza was gone with that stupid story with the waitress.  There was a real attempt to make him a lead for awhile.  It didn't work.

That was so embarrassing for everyone involved, lol.

I think Ric could've been a lead at one point but it was not then. Rick Hearst can be a lead, but Ric can't. I am not suggesting he should have an A-pairing - he is a sleazeball. I'm just noting the reality of what it is.

So embarrassing.  That's honestly one of the reasons I don't like Ric.  I know that wasn't RH's fault, but I am sad I had to live through the Marianna story (I think that was her name)

I totally get your point about a potential Ava/Ric pairing.  It would probably go the same way  most of his other pairings went.  It will start decent, then get really weird, and then fizzle out because the writers will lose interest.  Ava/Ric still might be better than Liz apparently forgetting everything she ever knew about Ric, but not much.

Ric and Ava are both slime, but fun, sexy slime. That's all I need.

Sex in an art gallery > sex in a crypt.

Agreed. I will never understand people wanting Ava defanged. And IMO her best scenes of the year were when she and Watros got to play out that confrontation in Nina’s office. That and the one at the art gallery with NLG. I thought Maura West was riveting

Given how they were acting in their first scenes together, I would think Nina would have no problem with a Ric/Ava pairing.

Hehe. Same. And yes, I'm bias.

Agreed. She's a femme fatale. Allow her to be what Maura West plays to the hilt.

And of course they're besties again now post-Mulcahey. But whatever.

It's what she plays BEST! People saying that was Ava being written "out of character" clearly missed the "writer" years.

Very.

CLEARLY.

I thought it was kinda nice that Ava both with Trina & then later with Nina, had a kind of a reset of her own & that she acknowledged her appreciation of them. She was so isolated for so long, first by her own intent with her being at Sonny's & then later because Cates really pulled her totally out of anything like her usual mainstream. The time with Sonny was more or less delightful but with Cates I found it downright scary. Her being back at the studio, yes, YES. The idea of pairing her with Ric is something I guess I can imagine. Ric is a real challenge for me.

I mean, that whole Ava vs. Nina saga revisited the fact she shot Kate in cold-blood, etc. Ava's killed before. She is a JEROME! People forget this too much.

I mean... cmon now.
