-- Nothing about Perez Hilton's appearance felt real/genuine. He was stilted and charmless on a terrible blanched-out set. That off white couch with the beige walls was boring and awful.

-- Who the hell dressed Blaze for that appearance? She's a young musical star who dresses like a 45-year old?

-- The Metro Court lobby set is fantastic. Compare that to the Grand Phoenix lobby on Y&R, which was a joke.

-- However, the glory of that MC lobby went away when they showed us the outside entrance, which is embarrassingly bad.

-- Laura Wright's new haircut looks good.

-- Maura West looked fire in black. And how many in this cast are on Ozempic?

The thing about Natalia, it seems to me, hinges entirely on whether they've got a redemptive arc coming up for her. She's not been given enough of the blame & that is apparently just going to stand but if she evolves & shows a bigot becoming no longer bigoted then they can keep her if that's their aim.

Cates is just terminally stupid & he's been after Sonny & an ancient grudge this whole time.

Jarly is something really special.

I don't get why people are bothered at Kristina saying she's gay. IRL lots of times people say they are bi & it turns out to be a stage on a journey where gay is the ultimate destination.

And, with that, July Sweeps is now over. Going by today Finola, Laura & Steve could all take Performer of the Month!

The last 3 episodes have been pretty solid IMO after last week ended with two snoozefests back to back.

I like that Jagger has gone full Sonny vengeance mode, much more interesting and I love his teaming up with Ava. I was team Anna in their scenes he’s let the vendetta go too far and while she shouldn’t have let Valentine go free she’s right about him abusing his power with Jason.

LOVED the Sonny and Carly scenes from Tuesday where she told him she wasn’t gonna clean up his mess anymore. The Jason and Carly scenes today were fantastic as well, I will always be a Jarly fan first. LW has been acting her behind off. I can’t wait for Carly to give Jagger the dragging he deserves.

Great stuff with Jason and Danny as well, poor kid just wants to be with his dad.

I love their dynamic right now. They haven’t been playing this feud enough and I need more.

Pigrez Hilton was not needed and I hate how they’ve rectoned Kristina into being lesbian only. I think I’m alone in liking Natalia and I feel like the outrage at her character is a bit much.

Tracy’s scenes Tuesday grieving Luke with Ned and Sonny were great. Jane Elliot really has been the shining star of this regime.

I hear you about Natalia evolving.

However, we've seen time and time again that soap viewers want a redemption arc that makes sense. We don't respond to "She really wasn't to blame." We don't respond to "We all make mistakes, don't we"?

When Kristina said that, I gagged. If that's true, why can't we call Ava's recording a mistake? Why hold anyone accountable for anything?

Perez Hilton was bad enough. Then you add on propping like I have not seen. Jesus this show and the person running it.

It is not the audience’s fault that Sonny doesn’t have a woman right now and you are desperate to keep Natalia to have someone for him to flirt with. She is absolutely worse than Ava in this situation. Instead of doing the work to have her come around and learn, they just want us to forget she was the homophobe in the first place!

They have got to stop taking the wrong step every time. Whatever is compelling them to do this has to go. I don’t think I have ever seen GH fans hate every story they are telling consistently right now- Heather, Jason/Carly, and Natalia’s fallout.

This isn't even about that. FV just wanted to hire Eva LaRue (Mark Teschner told us so) and now wants her viable to remain.

I don't blame Eva, who is playing this woman to the hilt. She's not the issue, it's the character and the show.

I knew she was going to be propped as soon as all the Sonny scenes started. Who knew it was going to go this badly? And I have no problem with Eva. It’s the show. I hesitate to even blame the writing, because the way this is going screams Valentini interference to me.

There's no way Mulcahey would've gone along with this. I assume he's pretty much long gone in anything but name only, and I'm barely getting through catching up with the rest of July myself so I will be dropping til Jonathan turns up.

Sadly, that practice appears to be slowly returning.

Not looking forward to it.

Well we had it gone for a good stretch re: propping.

Alas...

Same. It definitely ain't Eva.

Cuz the fallout could have been more juicy than it is now.

    • I know some of y'all really like Brooke Kerr, and so I've tried to give her a shot, despite her frequent flat line readings and distracted "did I leave the front door unlocked?" facial expressions. But lord, she is so bad at playing a tough-talking badass that I was actually rooting for Brad today to spill the beans to Drew.
    • Googling does tend to ruin it.  For those of us who were teens in the late 1970s and early 1980s, you can't imagine how much fun it was to watch the show in the afternoons.  (It came on right after school.)  There weren't any "spoilers" at the time.  We would always try to anticipate how each crime and each mystery would be resolved, and we were ALWAYS wrong, because the stories are filled with so many weird twists and turns.   The head writer (Henry Slesar) and his dialogue writer (Steve Lehrman) invariably toss genuine clues directly into your face in the most unlikely ways, but then they provide a host of "red herrings" to completely confuse you and send you off on the wrong path.  Once the story reaches its conclusion, all you can think is Why didn't I figure that out weeks ago?  lol
    • Does the vault have the original scene and not the short flashback?
    • I appreciate that you are using AI with the knowledge of it's limitations. Some posters take everything it produces as fact.
    • And of course Mama Ru herself appeared on All My Children.
    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
    • @Maxim Great to see your mini-reviews again. There are a number of clips on Youtube of Janice's slow mental breakdown, especially as we go into January 1980. Christine Jones is just superb. She played the hell out of that role. Something which isn't referenced as much later on is how Mitch pushed Janice's doubts and mental instability for his own ends...until suddenly he didn't want to anymore (I guess he caught on with the audience and the show became wary). I don't want to post a bunch of clips, but this one has a very good confrontation between Rachel and Janice.

This has a good scene around 7 minutes in where you can see Janice struggling internally with her need to identify herself so much by the men around her, all of which helps lead to her crackup.
    • It really made Oscar the Doorman seem like an imbecile.   I think the show's unusual format & subject manner is what makes EON often seem less "dated" and "old-fashioned" than other shows from that time period.  It never attempted to be especially "trendy" or "modern" -- and its film noir style is pretty timeless.
    • Dallas, Dynasty, Knots and Falcon Crest all had good runs but by 85 they had seen better days. I think they were a victim of the format. After several seasons seeing the same characters front and center viewers were bored. What was once fascinating grew predictable. JR, Alexis etc had to be front and center and after a while their schemes and shtick grew repetitive. JR remarrying Sue Ellen, Alexis constantly trying to get he better of Blake etc Unlike daytime, there wasn't the flexibility to bring in other stories and characters and maybe let the likes JR go backburner. That same mentality also invaded daytime with characters like  Sonny and Victor still peddling the same stuff after decades. I guess the same could be said for MSW eg every week Jessica encounters a crime and solves it,but I think viewers come to that format with a different mindset.
