One day, she visited the New York set of the romantic comedy āWhen Harry Met Sallyā¦ā and was watching a scene in which Meg Ryan and Billy Crystalās lovesick characters argue with each other when Mr. Reiner, the filmās director, spotted her in the distance.
āI look over and I see this girl, and āWhoo!ā I was attracted immediately,ā he told The New York Times in 1989, recalling the pairās meeting.
A few months later, the photographer and director married ā and their relationship inspired Mr. Reiner to change the ending of his most famous movie. āOriginally, Harry and Sally didnāt get together,ā he told the Guardian in 2018. āBut then I met Michele and I thought: āOK, I see how this works.āā Harry and Sally had to marry each other, too.
