gonna go out on a lim an bet that know one does- but does anyone know around what time scotty and tracy were dating or was it more than once? I was looking for the clipi when she surprises him at his apartment- someone had put it up here once, but I can't find it and I don't want to look back that far. i know there is a whole big story in 1990 of when they hooked up to mess with lucy but I don't know if this was before or after or a seperate time entirely b/c it doesn't seem to be in any of the clips I can find. there is a clip of every bit of that story about 100 of them and they seem to be pretty well broken up by about clip 30-40. just curious

so I have yet another question for everyone... and by everyone I mean those of you who know how to burn a dvd that you have made. I have burned copies of things that i have and the regular old normal burning but I FINALLY got all my clips put together in a collection (I mean some serious clippage, and a lot of old' school really god clips too). i saved them all on files that are 1.5 hours long. don't know why i can't get it longer than that but that's what it told me but now they won't let me burn. it says it can't even find the files. they are saved as wlmp files b/c that

s what the program does but I can't save them any other way. anyone know how I can convert the whole lot of them into something compatable? I have windows dvd maker and have them saved as mp4 b/c thats all that would play- now i can't burn an mp4 b/c nothing else will find them!!!! craziness i tell you

nevermind... my brilliant self figured it out and i am busy "dvd burning" away. i have more than a full days worth of clips so it may take a while but i'm 7 deep right now. i have about 10 to go. no one's been on so i'm just commenting about nothing in particular i guess.... talk to you all once tracy gets back i guess. i have to say, I was disapointed in last week. I know it wouldn't happen but I would have liked to see some nice gesture from luke to tracy for v-day. oh well!! wishful thinging

hey knh

looks like its you and me these days

Tracy was on for 18 seconds yesterday. If the ratings suck you know it is all JE's fault! LOL

I think she may be on today. For sure TH and F

glad you figured out the dvd stuff. I'm not good with stuff like that. I wasn't understanding what kind of files you were saying.

I use avs for you software now for editing cause it goes frame by frame. Super slow but it helps when the audio and video don't sync up

    • There are the makings of good Emmy reels in these past couple of episodes, but the industry is still going to favor even the most mediocre stories and performances on the older soaps. And with the pressure from the government over race I can see the academy shutting out Beyond The Gates to avoid criticism from the administration and the far right media.
    • oh, definitely! It's too bad she hit the start of a rough transition period for the show. She shines, but she's stuck with bad story and some (if not exactly bad) not great co-stars.  Uh, who did Maureen O'Sullivan play? (Sigh--and only if I'd understood exactly who and how wonderful Teresa Wright was in '86) God, the summer of '84 was literally one event after another. Kim's outfit alone must've been worth a small fortune. And poor Maeve. She looks so uncomfortable. Rebecca Hollen told a story on Locher Room where Maeve dropped the f-bomb during the shooting of it. For some reason, she wasn't being listened to, and had just had enough. As a producer, I would've been holding my breath as my pregnant actress kept walking around strange and undoubtably uneven sets in that long skirt.
    • Thanks. I'm glad we have some fan memories of these years as this is such a typically snide take on the genre. It's also poorly written and reminds me a great deal of the tedious "snark" recaps that became popular in the '90s. The end in particular. The 1979/80 stuff I have seen is much more polished than a number of soaps at the time. It was very easy to watch and not too bogged down in past story.  Margo is played by Ann Williams, who was on what seemed like every soap. I think she said Margo was her favorite role.  These episodes aren't consecutive, but if you ever have time, they are worth a watch. They are bits and pieces from January and April of 1979 - April in and out of prison, her past calling to her via her psychic powers (and the suicide of Miles' wife Denise, who had murder framing in mind). April 1979 has the end of Winter Austen (such a fantastic soap name).  I don't want to drop a ton of links but you can find playlists on Youtube.
    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
