Wait! Is that why Victor is helping Audra? I'll give credit where credit is due. Watching the Jack vs Tucker scene where Tucker accuses him of being Audra's secret backer. And Jack laughed in his face and asked him why he would even think Jack when he has the most successful cosmetics company in the world. And it hit me...Victor is playing the long game. It made me think of the old days for a second. So if Audra gets the company, Victor is totally aiming it at Jabot. Meanwhile, Victor has Cole on Kyle and Michael on Diane. God, he's chess playing. Go 'head, Mr. Newman.

That said...I've enjoyed seeing TSJ being checked in the last two days and playing the cunning man that Tucker is supposed to be. I was picking on this fake heart problem moment only for it to be just that...FAKE. Good job. And Audra is giving Tucker a run for his money, too. So it has been interesting to watch. On the flipside, I love the Traci/Tucker scene as well. But that again goes back to TSJ being checked in.

Hmmmm at Jack and Traci trying to theorize what would have caused Ashley to have alters in childhood. I side-eyed when Jack pondered if Ashley might have known that Brent was not her father even back then. Uhhhh...NO. ON THE OTHER HAND, they put out the idea that Dina was around with a parade of men growing up...and I'm not sure if that is any better. But at least if they are going there for the DID, that tracks.

Don't like the Connor story, but liked the moment between Adam and Victor.

6-19

So is Johnny going to be our problem child moving forward? Because he was bringing all kinds of snark at Claire. But at least they are playing the beat of Victoria introducing her to her other kids. Meanwhile...JT...STAY AWAY FROM TANNING.

Part of me wants to laugh at Abby since we all have been discussing how she is always left out of all the Abbott/Newman drama. And here she is on this episode...complaining to Billy about that very thing. Part of me wonders who is reading these boards.

THAT'S IT??? And by IT I mean the Lily vs Daniel lawsuit is over like that? What a waste of a potential storyline. Or an abrupt end to one I should say since I have been all over Heather/Daniel/Lily.

ETA:

In case people don't already know...6-21 is a whole episode (with flashbacks it seems) about NICK.

Let the shade here BEGIN!!!

Hahahaha

I’ve been playing catch since that vacation but I agree with everything you said!

I meant to comment on Abby whining to Billy about not knowing about Ashley lol….yah I was wondering if JG actually reads this board has decided to make this a running gag LMAO…

And yes, the spray tanning has gotten out of hand on this show. Use to be Stafford with all the embarrassing splotch jobs but yeah I looking at Thompson…yikes.

Yeah, it's a little late for Abby to have self-awareness. That said...it wouldn't be the first soap writer to have a running joke going on...won't be the last.

Yeah, the scene with Victoria introducing her kids to Claire was good EXCEPT for that. It was sooo distracting.

Friday June 28:

Okay I admit I haven’t watched any of this week at all until today other than reading recaps but from what I saw today maybe had some potential for better or for worse lol.

Diane/Kyle: This story still doesn’t make any sense at all whatsoever and is very illogical. In fact this story has made zero sense from the get go and shows JG can’t even tell a simply family conflict story.

That said, we’re back to Audra/Kyle/Summer and I’m here for it after we were robbed last summer, but too little too late tbh.

Faith and Lucy scenes where nice, actually it would be nicer if Faith hadn’t been abruptly SOARSed into college and just have Faith be a HS senior giving Lucy tips on how to handle the mean girls. Meanwhile Faith and Moses are broken up…? Yikes. Moses should’ve been causing ruckus for Devon & Lily the past couple years but unfortunately JG has no imagination.

And as for Sharon…yikes. I know we’ve all complained about the lack of Sharon having story for the past few years but we don’t need for Sharon to be a kleptomaniac again, or sleep with every man in town, or go just go bonkers again (remember when Pratt said Sharon was the new Sheila?)

IDK who keeps fighting the Shick reunion, but they need to STFU, because there's literally nothing else you could do with Nick OR with Sharon at this point.

    • Yes. I don't know if Lenore was ever asked. Then it became a nun. Thanks. I didn't realize it was in 1987. That timeline doesn't make a lot of sense even if she would have had Ed to interact with. If they didn't ask her back in 1989 and she was willing, what a stupid error. The attempts at these feuds, or even the whole families tied together stuff like Maryanne Carruthers, never had any real impact because of how depleted the Bauers felt even by the mid '80s. And instead of expanding them, which would have been common sense, various producers were just too lazy, or too ashamed, and kept bringing on other families, or bringing in too many people at one time and not knowing how to write for them (the Spauldings in the McTavish era - as SOD said at the time, everyone in the family had the same personality).
    • Wasn't there talk of them bringing back Rita as Gus' mother at one point? Or something?
    • I think they are a part of the same family, although Carla was never really scheming for the same reasons, and once her double life was exposed, she stopped.
    • Rachel/Ada, Mona/Erica, a mother/daughter at LOVING, these are all examples of the Agnes Nixon "troublesome daughter/put upon mother" trope. Are Carla/Sadie by any chance one of the pairs that make up this trope? Another thing that these 2 shows might have in common. OLTL had a very strong thematic approach to socioeconomic differences between groups of people. Class differences. AW at an earlier point had this too but to be clear it was not as much as OLTL. So that is a similarity but marginal.  Besides that, I see no other comparable things. Paul Rauch was a very different EP at different shows. Oh, I've thought of one more thing. Using actors from the Broadway stage.  But, realistically that was something all of the NY shows had in common. So I don't think it has any uniqueness between AW & OLTL.
    • When you look at the period between Sweeps, it's as if they tried to maintain a kind of pace where they had a lot of plates spinning in the air & on their fingertips & the whole goal was nothing but to not drop any of those plates. A version of spinning one's wheels. They're not getting anywhere but they give the appearance of a whole lot of activity. I believe it's all about this appearance. At moments they accidentally hit a chord & something resonates but it is a false event.

    • I’m not speculating anything, but I admit, I’m getting a little worried about James Reynolds.
    • I feel like this is what they're doing by creating lots of storylines but their biggest weakness for years is the inability to properly pace these stories and give resolution. A good example now would be the Gio story which has been simmering for months with very little movement. I went from not caring to being invested to not caring again because of how long it's taking for the secret to be revealed. One story like that would be fine but it seems like everything moves at this snails pace on GH. They need to do a better job of rotating the stories so everything isn't in that same treading water phase.
    • However, those of us who watch DAYS have been spoiled. On Peacock there are no preemptions. Not for anything & not in or about any show.  I read somewhere that we Baby Boomers in a way invented instant gratification but then we realized that it was not fast enough.
