During the week of April 22-26, 2024, CBS’ “The Price is Right” (3.886 million / 4.375 million) and “The Young and the Restless” (3.220 million) attracted their largest overall audiences since at least mid-to-late February.

Among unrounded Women 18-49, “The Young and the Restless” tied its week ago performance with a 0.35 rating. Meanwhile, in Women 25-54, the soap opera tied its second-best performance of the season with a 0.57 rating among unrounded Women 25-54.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.668 million) saw a minor dip among Total Viewers but remained steady in unrounded Women 18-49 with a 0.26 rating. Among unrounded Women 25-54, the half-hour soap tied for its best performance in the demo since the week of February 5-9, 2024 with a 0.43 rating.

Over at ABC, “General Hospital” (1.952 million) was below the two million viewer mark for the second week in a row. The series tied its season low in unrounded Women 18-49 with a 0.18 rating, albeit there were no reported preemptions or interruptions impacting the show’s performance, unlike the show’s performance during the week of October 2-6, 2023, the first time the show hit a 0.18 rating.

“GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.311 million) beat both “The Talk” (1.223 million) and “NBC News Daily” (1.115 million) among Total Viewers, but the ABC News program ranked last in both unrounded Women 18-49 (0.13 rating) and unrounded Women 25-54 (0.22 rating), marking severe erosion in the former category in particular compared to its comparable performance during the year ago week (0.13 rating vs. 0.21).

What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of April 22-26, 2024 in Women 18-49, Women 25-54, Households and Total Viewers, including a look at their performance during the comparable week last year. A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance breakdown in the demos, will be posted shortly.

Note: “The View” aired repeats all week. As a result, the numbers listed below are not factored into the show’s season average. Total Viewers and Households for “TODAY 3rd Hour” and “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” were not available at press time.

Beginning August 31, 2020, national ratings include Out of Home (OOH) viewing. Previously, ratings did not include OOH viewing. Averages are based on regular telecasts.

People were clamoring for Sheila? Last week was about Sheila and B&B still dropped in viewers. People are not tuning in to the mints and toe show.

Looks that way.

The Bold and the Beautiful is actually up. Despite the minor dip in viewers, and I do mean minor, the demos are actually fine. They could be better, sure, but they are fine. The Women 25-54 unrounded rating is actually better than what it was before Sheila "died," while in Women 18-49, the unrounded demo is the best since Sugar was killed.

    • Yes!!! Mona feels  like one of my aunts, love the way she carries herself. Loved seeing Eva pop-up at the gambling place.  Monday was all around good soap. Can't remember the last time an entire episode held my interest.  Loving the fallout and reverberations from Ted and Shea-Butter Sheila's affair

. Tricia Mann Grant is 90s early 2000s quality FINE. As nice as it would've been to see Anita embrace Eva, I'm glad she didn't because we can squeeze a lot more years of conflict out of Eva, Leslie and the Duprees.   Lauren & Sheila, Viki & Dorian, Katherine & Jill all gave us good conflict for decades. Hopefully this follows suit. I understand the concern. Right now there's an issue of quality of black representation on shows more so than quantity of black shows. I'd like to see more predominantly black sci-fi, legal, political, supernatural or medical dramas over the typical who is sleeping with who. However, this is a soap, and this is what happens on soaps. White soap characters do these things all the time, but have the luxury of being seen as individuals, not representations of their entire race. Husbands/fathers like Todd Manning, Victor Newman and Asa Buchanan cheat, lie and swindle all the time but aren't seen as a commentary on white men. Black characters like Ted and New Dollar Bill should be able to do the same.
    • And that area of the DMV has a high-end glamorous casino the MGM National Harbor.
    • Even under the new writers, Jamey episodes are the shortest and the weakest A lot of people were unnecessarily clowny and bitchy today. There was a lot of fluff and filler too. And the dialogue was a little… ehhh as well. But welcome back, Kevin! It’s been a long time lol his return still seems really random but I don’t mind it. Philip’s actions make sense to me based on everything that’s happened to him lately and it could possibly set up more tension between him and Xander/Alex. And I wouldn’t mind seeing him and Kevin team up. I thought the actor did a good job too. Too bad that they couldn’t get Robert Benvenisti back though. I didn’t realize it in 2001 but he was hot

And, we got the word that Arianna wants to come home. I’m looking forward to that, and seeing her relationships with Gabi, Marlena, etc. on display and I hope that

As for Rachel’s birthday party… was Days hinting at something that we’ve been speculating about since EJ was shot?

    • Portugal qualifying was the only shocker. I'm really happy for Iceland. IMO, the automatic finalists – Spain, Switzerland and Italy – had the best performances. I love the studio version of Azerbaijan, but on stage, it was a disaster.
