Marisa Ramirez lands in Genoa City!

Marisa Ramirez has been cast as Carmen Mesta, the new Crisis Public Relations Rep for Jabot. Her first tape date is April 4, and her episodes will begin airing on May 8.

Marisa was discovered at age 13 via a Polaroid picture that landed in the hands of a Los Angeles modeling agent. She went on to a successful career as a print model and a commercial actress which offered the opportunity to travel to such exotic locals as Singapore, Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong and Italy. Despite a life-long case of shyness, Marisa tackled acting classes that eventually lead her to roles on USA High and Roswell .

From 2000-2002 she portrayed the spirited supermodel Gia Campbell on General Hospital. In 2001, she received an ALMA nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series. In 2002, she was nominated for a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series.

Most recently, she starred in the independent film All Souls Day and in the primetime drama Miracles , opposite Skeet Ulrich.

Loved Marisa on GH, Y&R just gets better and better while ABCD gets worse and worse. I am delighted!

Yay!! My Nia heart feels good. And I thought I would never see Marisa on soaps again... I hope they explore her character and give her something good to work with.
