The promos had me SCARED TO DEATH for Olivia!

I knew with Marishka's pregnancy she'd have to written off somehow (or does she?) so I really thought they'd kill her off!

And then to see the promos where that guy slit her throat.

Damn, as soon as I saw that knife cut her, I gasped and cried buckets, thinking she'd surely die.

And then she was okay.

But HOLY HELL, did you see that cliffhanger? No wonder, now, what they meant when the announcer said tonight's show would change everything...Olivia and Stabler no longer partners? Daaaaamn.

What a good show.

Just for the record, Olivia will remain until the final episode of the season then be replaced for the first six next year.

This was a really good episode, IMO! I had stopped watching bc it had gotten so bad with it's "TWIST TWIST TWIST" formula that made zero sense. Here they followed a single case, utilized the entire cast (except Casey THANK GOD) and it was exciting as all hell!

I hope they keep this pace up until the end of the season! :D

Well I didn't see the promos for the show, but saw the show. I knew Mariska wasn't going anywhere because she told one of those entertainment shows that she wouldn't be in the first 6 episodes of the next season but she would be back after that. SUV knows Mariska is the star of the show, they aren't stupid enough to kill her off. I actually would like Olivia to have a new partner because Stabler needs therapy BAD!!!!!! Then after that they can be partners again.

Well, see, I saw that same interview. It was "Entertainment Tonight," right? Anyway, being the skeptic I am, I honestly thought she was helping the producers pull off a big surprise with Tuesday's show by deceiving the media, only for everyone to find out Olivia died on Tuesday's episode. Just a way to throw off the viewers, I guess.

What can I say? I watch soaps.

QUOTE(Chris B @ Apr 6 2006, 03:50 PM)

Why would yall think she was dying when she was only going on maternity leave?

Honestly, I have no idea, Chris B, lol. Maybe it was just because I thought she might be one of those people who would want to do mothering full-time. After all, she already has all the money she needs.

FYI: If she didn't die and wasn't one of those mothers, I thought she would be seriously injured and they'd put her in the hospital for six months or so.

In the most recent edition of TV Guide, Mariska says that shes going to be in the season opener, and then out for the next six episodes, so the possibilities are endless on how they will write her out for maternity leave.

One things for sure though. If she were to ever leave, the show would die. Mariska and Chris' chemistry makes the show. It survived when Stephanie March left, but it wouldn't if either one of them did.

Stephanie March's replacement is a disaster. I would love for them to get her off of that awful Conviction back on SVU or Mothership. I would watch full time for her. I just can't stand to see Casey, Alex was brilliant. And that HoYay with Olivia was just too hot. Forget Chris/Mariska's chemistry, THAT was some hot stuff there. :P

    • The highest rated soap seemingly has the smallest budget.
    • I hate to say it, but same. I gave the recast a chance, but I don't love the change his acting style has brought to the character.  I agree that Maurice needed to develop his craft, especially with the delivery of the more emotional stuff, but he didn't need to be recast. NuTed feels like a punk and too soft.
    • I’m still enjoying Leslie personally. It’s actually fascinating to see her so fear less about getting caught. I don’t even think she comprehends how Eva just saved her ass. Also her interactions with Kat and Jacob entertain me. She has great antagonistic chemistry with both of them. I agree on both accounts.  I have zero connection or interest in the character now. He comes off as such a wimp to me.
    • BY FAR the weakest episode of the past week+. -- Even a change in writers cannot make Leo work as a character. Dialing back on his personality isn't enough -- he's still insufferable. Every scene he was in reminded me of why I grew to hate Carlivati. -- Chad couldn't make a longer obituary on John a go with a single phone call? So stupid. -- Jack and Jennifer should have called in their regrets the way Hallmark Sami did. I got nothing from them today and felt nothing. -- Jack slobbering the praise on Leo for his work at the paper was pathetic.

    • I was relieved to get a respite from the heavy John/Bo material today. Like previously mentioned, it really let us come up for air and breathe a bit, and good beats regarding John were still in play to keep that thoroughline going.  Peter Reckell was fantastic on yesterday's episode. I was worried Bo would be told about Victor and Doug off-screen, so though my heart was fully breaking for him, I'm really happy we got to see him react to their passings. How strange that both his fathers died in a plane crash, I'm surprised they didn't have a line about it, but maybe it would have been to clunky to include. Cat/Tate were a fresh interaction. Why would she "feel" like she knows Sami. It reminded me of when Carrie "felt" like she knew EJ when he first came to town as EJ Wells, where he should have turned out to be a long lost Tony/Anna kid, but then all the mess we got happened instead. With that and her mysterious call, colour me intrigued. I am going to confess something I am almost ashamed to admit ... I like the Jack/Leo scene! However, in my defense, it got very genuine between them and those historical references used about Diana, Duke, and Leo's past with John were all very strong beats to play for me, and most importantly it Leo's responses were kept to a minimum. But by God, those pants he was wearing made him look deranged. Also, shout out to Melissa Reeves, who came back effortlessly yet again. I can't wait to see her confront Chad about letting Cat into his life. And SSH shouting "SKYDIVING" was hilarious.

I also feel like we’ve honored her lately with the synopses that keep coming in! Just wish we had more clips! Maybe someday!
    • Of course Donna somehow missed Laura Wright’s moles for 20 years.
    • Today's Lucky and Liz scenes were horrible. There really is no way to explain Lucky's character. Not that anyone cared though. It looked like everyone involved just gave up, and that JJ couldn't get out of there fast enough.  Also, why is Sonny on every single day? Most of his appearances are so pointless. Can they not rest the character, even for a few days?
