The GH’s Nurses Ball always sparks the debate of who can, and cannot sing. Eliminating the professional singers with albums (I’m looking at you Rick Springfield and Bobbie Eakes, et al), who were you SURPRISED to learn had a good singing voice on your soap?

 

On AMC, I used to live for when Donna (Candi Earley), Emily Ann (Liz Vassey), and from time to time Charla (Tchina Arnold) got a chance to show off their pipes. They could sing Broadway. They could sing pop. I remember there was a thanksgiving where the three of them sang together and their voices were so strong.

I remember the day I found out that Robert Newman has these incredible pipes & can sing his heart out & has done all these musicals! He can also play piano. 

And, on AW, they did a KBAY Match Dare telethon show. Amazed again to learn that Anna Stuart can sing, I mean really sing! 

I remember Jerry Douglas (RIP) once sang on Y&R and he was pretty good.

Singing in soaps has always made me somehow uncomfortable. I don't like it!

Never saw her on DAYS, but I always enjoyed Patty Weaver singing as Gina on Y&R whenever she did.
