In a report by Deadline Hollywood, it states: "Hackman Capital Partners, which bought Television City for $750 million from CBS Corp. in 2019, is planning a $1.25 billion renovation of the landmark complex. In addition to The Price Is Right, it has been housing CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, which is ending its run this spring, as well as The Young and the Restless, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol and Real Time with Bill Maher, which are solidifying moving arrangements."

Sounds like most productions at Television City are re-locating sometime this year, per "solidifying moving arrangements."

Once CBS sold the facility I guess they were renting floorspace from the new owners?

That might explain fewer and smaller sets. The less space they rent, the lower the cost.

No. Sony cut the overnight crews when production resumed in late 2020, so they only have had community permanent sets, with a few alternating ones. It didn't have to do with the space itself, but the crew not being available.

Yes, I read that before but I thought that the renting aspect might also be a factor. Just a theory.

Wonder where Y&R will relocate to?

I imagine that moving the whole production will be costly. Wonder if there will be more onscreen cuts to compensate?

Sony could relocate production of Y&R to its own studio lot in Culver City, or production could move to CBS’s other major lot at Studio City where Passions once taped.

It’s LA, so there’s quite a few facilities to move production to for both Y&R and B&B.
