For the first time since 2020, “General Hospital” will celebrate the annual Nurses Ball which will include musical performances from the illustrious citizens of Port Charles in dedication to HIV/AIDS awareness. The event is part of the show’s year-long 60th anniversary celebration which kicks off in late March with a special tribute episode dedicated to the late Sonya Eddy and her character Epiphany Johnson.

During the week of April 3, Nurses Ball festivities begin with the show’s fictional characters participating in the glamorous charity event complete with red-carpet fashion. In addition to the Nurses Ball, the show is planning the return of several fan favorites, including Jane Elliot as Tracy Quartermaine in April, when the icons of Port Charles unite to stop a legendary threat from the past.

The return of the Nurses Ball and Jane Elliot as Tracy Quartermaine was announced yesterday during ABC’s portion of the Winter Television Critics Association press tour which included cast members from the daytime series appearing before the press. Those in attendance were Donnell Turner (Curtis), Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth), Maurice Benard (Sonny), Genie Francis (Laura), Tabyana Ali (Trina), Kristina Wagner (Felicia) and Nicholas Chavez (Spencer). Also in attendance were co-head writers Dan O’Connor and Chris Van Etten, and executive producer Frank Valentini.

According to a transcript of the panel discussion by Decider writer Brett White, the show is using the Nurses Ball as a jumping point for its 60th anniversary with O’Connor stating, “The best way to honor the past is to use the Nurses Ball as a jumping off point, to bring our beloved cast together, acknowledge the past and set up the future.”

“General Hospital” premiered on April 1, 1963 on ABC. The series airs weekdays and is available On Demand and via Hulu.

Thank you my dear hearts. I have to confess. I've prepared nothing. I've never been a prize winner. Not even as a child. I lost 3 Emmys. Once I lost a Tony. A friend recently lost an Oscar. My agent said, 'Following in the steps of Susan Lucci couldn't do you any harm.' So I have to rethink my entire career. Ladies & gentlemen, no one person ever deserves such an award. • Given that we've each commented that Rachel's nonverbal “tells” were definitely meant to be foreboding today.  I'd say there's still an evil streak in Rachel. Also, her Johnny reference seemed oddly knowing... So, I enjoy that this one is a bit smarter, and less weirdo Wednesday Adams with a stuffed snake.
    • I do get that.  I also did think Rachel was the child Kristen and Brady deserved though lol.
    •   I kinda like that Rachel's not really a demon anymore. Kristen's daughter or not, it wasn't necessary for her to be like that.  And just like with GH, we all know that Ron thinks it's funny to write the kids as nasty, obnoxious little sh*ts

    • I don't get it either.  It's just a story running in a different city about adoption with anonymous sources.  Why does anyone care?  It's not like she's outing Brook Lynn by name or even touching on her story from what I understood.
    • I loved the Andre/Nicole scene. The actors really sold all the emotions that came with it.    Sean has such chemistry with Karla and Daphne
    • I was a huge fan of RH the first few years, and I while I can't disagree about unlikeable characters, I still found them interesting. Mainly, I'm thinking of the Frank/Jill/Seneca triangle (with Rae added later). MY GOD, what a group of selfish, controlling, narcissistic a-holes. But I have to say, watching them torch their own lives over and over was pretty fascinating.
    • Old Rachel just seemed devious always with her elaborate hairstyles and snotty behavior.  I assume this girl is just a better actress or something.  They both seem to have the same capabilities, but I guess we will see where the story goes.
