I sure as hell wasn't going to be the one to say it, but yeah, seconded.

A new (puff) piece on the film. They do seem to indicate the history of the nation will be directly addressed, so I'll give it a chance even if the marketing seems very reductive because I usually love Viola Davis and I've always liked Prince-Bythewood.

I was very surprised to discover the one and only Maria Bello of TV and film produced this.

The reviews from Tiff have been awesome, and I'm excited about it. I hope they have a big box office opening and some great awards recognition so we can get more of these type of films in the future.

 

Viola said in their essence roundtable that this was her way of passing the baton. She's one of a kind in my eyes, I've never seen another black actor take their role in Hollywood this serious. I seriously wish her best!!

This movie was freaking incredible. Viola Davis can do no wrong in my eyes. An overall great production from the acting, the score, the heartfelt moments, the action and the layers to all the main charactets.
