I remember reading the comments fields on sites like Dark Shadows Every Day while watching it and there were still a lot of ladies in their 50s and 60s who swore Frid was absolutely not gay. Why, I don't get. He's one of the more obvious ones.

I would recommend you go back a few pages to see the recent reactions about Adam Huss and Adam Harrington.  When heterosexuality is all we see in every song, poem, or museum, queerness is often unexpected.

I fault them for many creative decisions, but good on the Dobson's for keeping Joel Crothers employed (and under union insurance) toward the end of life.  I mean, the man took on a dual role right before he passed.  I googled it, but couldn't find any references to Nancy Lee Grahn (his scene partner on SB), ever mentioning him in an interview.  Let me know if you find anything.

I bought a Cameo with Nancy Lee Grahn and specifically asked her about Joel  Nancy enjoyed working with him a lot.

I love those Cameos. I found it by accident. I was looking for a birthday present for a friend of mine. Unfortunately, the celebrity I was looking for wasn't on there.

I wish Chandler Massey was on there!😍

Tina Sloan talked awhile back about working with Joel. (Would that have been SOMERSET?) Anyway, positively glowing remarks.

A very good friend from AW, one of our cadre of "Last Gaspers", Edie Silverburg, since deceased, lived on Long Island next door to where Joel grew up. She had such wonderful stories of his growing up, as a young man, beginning his career.

Someone, I don't know who, talked about a day at work when he said he had discovered a lump in his stomach. That was a very bad day. And, yes, so glad the Dobsons were there at the end.

This has nothing to do with closeted gay actors formerly on soaps.

And, of course, what the topic needs is a troll gatekeeping.

Please inform me how Adam Harrington, a current non closeted gay soap star, is relevant to Closeted (gay) actors formerly on the soaps.

I believe before John posted the item you quoted that someone posted that he is a gay actor & that he was previously unknown to be so, so possibly "closeted", etc. The posts are there to read for yourself. But, to a large degree the topic has evolved into being 'gays on soaps'.

Yes, the topic has, to a large degree, evolved into being gay on soaps.  And I don't mind that at all.  Actually, it is probably a better and more positive topic anyway.

Works for me! I'm not sure why anyone would object, ya know?

Same here.  Closeted or not, I like to know that we are represented on the soaps.
