Robert Mandan, the actor best known for his role as the adulterer Chester Tate on the ABC drama Soap, has died. He was 86.

He's the third Soap actor to go since October. That's when we lost Robert Guillaume (Benson), and then Donnelly Rhodes (Dutch) passed in January. RIP.

Nooooooooo!  Chester Tate was one of the best characters ever and that's because of Robert Mandan!  Chester and Benson scenes were epic!  Such a talented man!

Thinking about that makes it especially sad.

May his family, loved ones and friends find comfort in all the laughter he brought to audiences.  RIP.
