In preparation for the imminent shut-down of TikTok, I went through my list of follows to subscribe to them on other social media platform.Ā  When suddenly, I was struck by the number of accounts that I flip through and ignore on a daily basis.Ā  Either because they annoy me, or their current content has strayed from their initial focus, or they've become too repetitive, there are numerous people that I no longer wish to think about.

So, while I mourn the loss of TikTok, and the silly political reasons for which it is being restricted.Ā  It feels like a fresh start to get certain ā€œinfluencersā€ out of my conscience.Ā

Yep, only the US is going to restrict TikTok from the Apple App store in January.Ā  Because, even though they are managed in Singapore, the fact that their company headquarters are in China is enough to make GOP frightened that they are stealing our data while we watch people dance and give life hacks.

I really will feel lost without it. I fell into the rabbit hole and got addicted to scrolling and watching feuding tik-tokers live streams and battles. I fall asleep listening to crazy people screaming at each-other. It's like a cheaper version of a soap opera.Ā Ā

      Random takes from this week: - Billā€™s been played way too soft by the actor. I just canā€™t buy him doing anything truly sinister. I wish he had more of that old-school Victor Newman edge. - On characterization: Iā€™m fine with Leslie being shown as a narcissistic and cruel motherā€”as long as she doesnā€™t tip into full cartoon villain territory. Daniā€™s involvement in Nicoleā€™s storyline feels natural to me, and I really like that MartĆ­n is such a hothead, which totally clashes with his polished political career. No wonder no one wants to confide in him. Also, I donā€™t mind Haleyā€™s characterization at all. - Iā€™m still annoyed they dropped the whole lawsuit storyline. Thatā€™s why Iā€™m a bit hesitant about getting too invested in the June plot. Also: I can do without another instant-sibling storyline. - Ashley and Derek? Totally fine with them in small doses. Thatā€™s the best way to handle those two. - Thank God Ted is getting recast. I honestly couldnā€™t handle that constant swaying much longer. - Speaking of Ted: maybe Iā€™m in the minority here, but that hotel set is hideous. The oversized boiserie makes everything look flat, and that artwork on the wall? Bland, ugly, and lifeless. - Iā€™m 50/50 on the product placement. On one hand, itā€™s totally misplaced and campyā€”especially when it shows up in the middle of emotional scenes. It just feels wrong. But on the other handā€¦ here we are talking about Febreze and Tide. So maybe it is working? I honestly donā€™t know. -Ā I donā€™t have any issues with the fashion on the show overall, but AndrĆ©ā€™s wardrobe is just off. Not in terms of style, but size. His tops are way too tight and actually make him look even shorter than he is. Same goes for Smitty. Both of them would seriously benefit from some larger blazers or chunkier sweaters.
