I'm so over Bill trying to bring down Spectra b/c he wants a damn lot of land. Out of all the stories one could devise for a media empire, we have Bill targeting some sweatshop b/c he wants the land?!

Hasn't Sheila been in jail before returning to LA? Wasn't that implied? How would she know about James' pill addiction? I still feel that Sheila's return is missing one key player ... Taylor! Taylor should be the primary person trying to remove Sheila from the Forrester orbit. I'm also over Eric being a simp to any woman with a pulse. It was funny back in '93. It's pathetic now.

Katie & Wyatt ... meh. I just don't see how them pairing up is gonna pay off majorly. Not when everyone on this show bump uglies incestuously on the regular. If anything, when Bill finds out, he ought to shrug his shoulders and go on about his business. Only way I would've found this duo scandalous and having a big payoff was if Katie and Bill were at odds post divorce b/c Katie held a major stake at Spencer Publishing along with them being a tense custody battle over Will. Then Katie boning Wyatt would've been scandalous.

They share a daughter, Mary, and she told her mother about it. I had hoped that Eric had invited Sheila as revenge against Quinn. Use Sheila to get a rise out of her bc he hasnt completely forgiven her for her cheating. Unfortunately nah he is just being written as being stupid

IA on the use of Taylor.

    • That definitely was her voice.
    • I was going to put this Lisa Brenner interview in the AW thread but I'm not sure she says much about AW in it. I admittedly skipped around a lot as the interviewer's style annoyed me.

    • Today was amazing, for so many reasons. Others have complained certain stories are dragging and others have rightly pointed out, the show only premiered THREE MONTHS AGO! Yes, the caps are dramatic, but I think they seize the moment appropriately. I have watched more than a few soap opera debuts. BTG, is by far, the best, first three months of a show, I have ever seen. MVJ, rightly, found the best in the business to avoid as my pitfalls as they could, to get the show settled quickly. They have found their footing. Is it perfect, no, but is it as close to excellence I've seen this quickly, yes. I loved today's scenes, particularly with Anita. That voice reading the letter, sounded like June

      to me.
    • GH has to be the only soap that still has a courtroom set and I appreciate that as I love courtroom drama on soaps.
    • Ahh ok, that makes sense. Gosh, I didn't remember Frances passing in 1994. I thought she was with us longer than that. She was such a sweet lady and character. Yes, so good and I'm so happy there is a quality version online. I looked it up and AMC won the Best Directing Emmy for 1994, so I have to assume they submitted these episodes. I'm not sure how to find out to confirm, but would only make sense. I still get chills watching it because I remember it so vividly as a 10 year old. Of course the drama of it all to see what happens to your favorite characters pre-spoiler days, but I grew up in the Midwest so tornadoes were a real, scary thing that. We had monthly tornado drills in school, so this made it seem very real to me. Very impressive. It makes me want to go find and compare the Mardi Gras explosion scenes and their second tornado many years later (although I think I remember that being a lot of CGI perhaps). I don't think I've seen those since they first aired. But for 1994, this was very well-done. Ahh - this was the start of Noah! And so many other great things - I really loved AMC from 91-96.
    • Speaking of slaps, there's the infamous Ed slapping daughter Michelle during the Maryanne Carruthers mess in 2003.

    • Tracy’s tossed-off line to Drew about being out of ketamine made me LOL. I feel like some funny gay guy is writing her one-liners lately.
    • Yes, I am aware of the ballyhoo about Michigan. But, I still do not understand & I will  endeavor to explain why. Do some of us think it was a real place in Michigan, because not thing ever gave me such an idea. I thought we all knew it was a fictional location & I am positive that Irna meant it to be just that.
    • It has come up in this thread before that early on it was specified that Another World was set in Bay City, Michigan, but somewhere along the line the references shifted to Illinois-ish.    I have tried and failed to find any specific clear reference to Michigan, although there have been some circumstantial details that suggest Bay City is not in Illinois. i notice that the AW Bible begins by describing the location as simply "not far from Oakdale", but things do change (the bible calls Pat Cynthia) and we can't take that as pure canon.
