March 7Mar 7 Member Ok I LOVED this premiere and cast. I wasn't sure if I would, but instantly thought it was great. Such a strong premiere. Martha also gives me Grey Gardens vibes, and that nasty bird in her house? OMG.Kimi reminds me of Parker Posey's character on White Lotus - so eccentric.I went from feeling bad for Dara to instantly hating her. But what a wild move to just quit the show mid-dinner. I felt so bad for her friend (Myka?). The guy is a good fit. The pregnant lady and her husband seem odd, but they clearly go well together. Not sure if I like them or not yet. Can't wait to see more! I can't believe they got some of these people - like Emma! And the fact that Dara's ex-husband is now Princess Beatrice's husband, so wild.

And I heard the REAL tea was on the following WWHL, too. But what little I saw...MESS.21 hours ago, Chris B said:I tuned in just to say I gave it a shot but was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! I had a lot of negative thoughts due to how Bravo handled the show and Real Housewives of London, but I'm happy to say both shows are great and completely different. I'd also argue this ensemble has more chemistry than the original Ladies of London which never quite got it right.I'll start with Misse, who I already knew from Real Housewives of Cheshire. She was kinda boring there but she fits with these women much better. She reminds me of a Crystal Minkoff in that she kinda drowned on housewives but grew over time and is now able to shine on a show that is a better fit. Mark and Martha were other highlights. I didn't know if a man could work but he made perfect sense within the cast. Martha is giving me Grey Gardens and I love every second of it.The only people I'm not 100% sold on yet are the Americans but I don't think anybody seems like a dud. I hope this show ends up being successful so it sticks around!Great to hear.

I saw a bit of it and was already intrigued, but a 'school' night for me. Either before bed or tomorrow.
March 9Mar 9 Member Loved it. Way better cast than the original LoL. The Dara stuff was so unflattering given she exposed herself on camera within the same episode that she denied doing so.Mark-Francis was totally himself. A total one-off.

March 9Mar 9 Member I saw it and enjoyed it. At first I wasnt feeling that they dropped two episodes but seeing the story of what went down, it made sense. I still dont know all the character names but that will come eventually. I do like the production and how they edit things to explain things to us such as currency conversion, what terms mean, etc... Nice touchFirst off I didnt realize that this was going to be season 4 of the original series. I thought New Reign was a new franchise and this was season 1. I thought it was an all UK cast but we have Americans like before. I like that they are better integrated and the theme isnt US vs UKEmma is my fave. MONEY! She got it. Beautiful and I like her attitude. Whats with all the Megan Markle shade though? You can tell these Brits dont like herMisse. Her name is pronounced Miss-EE here but I swear on RHOCh, it was Miss-Say. She's still prettyLottie...Im glad she addressed people assuming her husband is gay bc not gonna lie, I thought so as well. I definitely think he's fluid and swings both waysIm not sold on Mark being here. I liked him enough but Im so used to having this format being all woen that a single man throws things off. I just hope we dont get into a screaming match between he and one of the women bc that wont be a good look for him at all but this environment encourages this. These heffas are MESSY! I was not expecting them to come so hot this early on. Gossipping, rumors and doing it so casually. Im just not used to that. Even on RH, i feel like they are more subtle...LOLDara quitting...wow....lol. Im shocked they broke the fourth wall and kept that in. Its not normal for women to film and then quit early on but usually they get cut from the final edit or glossed over. Nah, she here and they kept it all in. Its a shame we lost her bc she was delusional enough to be a breakout character. She'd have been great tv Edited March 9Mar 9 by Cheap21

Dara Huang leaving was unexpected, as she was already shaping up to be a passive-aggressive villain who talks behind her BFF's back. But I'm hopeful the rest of the cast can keep the momentum up.Mark-Francis is always enjoyable to me. His excoriation of Dara at the end of ep. 2 as someone who didn't choose to leave, but was cut by the group, was breath-taking.I don't know how the ratings are, it is a little less marketing-friendly than RHOLondon, but I think it does show the London high-society scene even more intimately than RHOL. Someone like Martha Sitwell, for example, once an aristocrat, now impoverished but still trying to hold on to her position in life. Martha and Kimi both dress like 1940s Mitford sisters, and I imagine harking back to that era of iconic socialites is entirely the point. Kimi reminds me of a late-60s Babe Paley.Missé is doing the work as the supposed truth-teller of the group, ready to lay things out on the table. She understands this game, and she's almost too good at it, i.e.: it might be a bit pre-planned.The Margo & Martha of it all is shaping up to be an intriguing slow-burn which I suspect will explode very soon. Something Ladies of London understands is the interplay of female friendships in these circles. The power plays, dominance/subservience on the one hand, the deep confidences on the other. These friends have seen each other at their best, and their worst. While Real Housewives seem to be on a mini-hiatus (unless you are watching BH, in which case: my condolences), this is a pretty compelling show. I'm lowkey addicted. Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by Cat
