I reached out to a certain former Soap Opera Digest Writer that was well known for histories (the one that sent me his cast lists while he was moving.) Here's what he had..

 I recently discovered that Elsie and Dr. Carl Miller appeared on screen in 1953. Do you think Ethel Remey was in the role then, as well as in 1956 and 1957? Have you ever seen that anyone portrayed Carl -- Maybe Carl Low? Hmmm...

I don't know about Carl Miller but there was another actress who played Elsie at one time. Possibly Leona Powers.

No luck with Leona Powers, other than a 1959 letter from a viewer asking whether she played Mrs. Allen on GL.  The newspaper columnist didn't know the answer.

Nick Andropolous...Michael Forrest Jan  80- September 82 Carpenter/restaurant owner hired by Lisa for renovations at Wade Bookstore  owned The Plakka,knew Sheila Winston, fell for Kim,arousing jealousy of Bob and Melinda. Blamed brother Steve for a fire that killed his wife and daughter.Kim discovers from Steve that he had an affair with Andrea and pulls away from Nick because of that secret, Nick leaves for Greece, Kim follows and they sleep together! and become engaged.Discover Andrea is alive and that she faked her death over guilt of their child dying in the fire. Nick began divorce proceedings, discovered that Steve and Andrea had had an affair and almost killed Steve. Married Kim who became disenchanted with his old fashioned views as they clashed when she took over management of his restaurant and then got a job as Stan Holden's secretary. Furious to discover Steve is involved with Betsy his stepdaughter  Died of a heart attack not before extracting a promise from Betsy  not to become involved with Steve.

Kay Campbell joined as Helene Benedict on August 25th, John Gibson as Henry Benedict on September 22nd.

Not sure about the actor but Anne's boyfriend, Tom Sloane, first appeared on September 23rd. 

The character of Ruth Jannings first appeared on September 24th.

Nora Hansen Gibbs   Joanne Linville    May - Sept 59 pregnant mother who models at Bowden Gallery and befriends Marie Grant. Her husband Al deserted her when discovered she was pregnant and she asks Marie to adopt her baby but Marie refuses. Gives birth to a girl whom she names Marie(August 59) With Dick out of town Marie lets Nora and the baby move into her apartment. Hearing from Al,Nora goes to Las Vegas in hopes of  a reconciliation and leaves the baby with Marie. She and Al are killed in a car crash but only Al's body is found. Marie hopes to adopt the baby.

Al Gibbs    Never Seen  1959 Nora's husband who deserted her. Dies in a car crash in Las Vegas.

I see that 'Soap World'  lists this character as Amy so somewhere along the line this misinformation became fact.
