December 20, 201411 yr Member Love, love, love JY getting into this. He's been waiting for two years to get a real story and each week, you can see how he's getting more and more into it. The good news for B&B is that with KKL's absence and the rating continuing to be solid, it removes any doubt that the show effectively transitioned from the "Original 4 actors." The ability to reset the show is akin to the Y&R shift in the early 1980s. It's not easy to do and many shows failed or were severely crippled by such attempts, but with a strong cast and interesting stories, B&B has done it. Obviously because so much airtime was focused on Hope, this is another key period, but LG/KM are more than capable of filling that void. LG's unexpected fire with TK and KM being given the opportunity to play something other than meek victim.
December 20, 201411 yr Member I'm loving JY more on B&B than I did on AMC. I think Ricky is like JR in some aspects, but overall I'd prefer his Rick to his JR lol. December 21, 201411 yr Member LOL...they are the same exact character to me except Rick doesnt have a drinking problem YET! LOL. (though if soaps were daring again - he hit some real hard drugs. I hope that doesn't happen though.) I have no problem with JY channeling JR. He was Rick first and very Liam-ish, before Liam was around. JR helped him grow as an actor and as a leading man. The one thing that set JY apart from other 'alpha' type men is that he is able to convey hurt and vulnerability, without seeming, well, Liam-like.
