Y&R is on the lookout for a “charactery” actor to play Tobias, described as a lab technician in his mid 20s to early 30s. The character will be quirky but “have a cold, calculating energy about him.” The role is non-contract but still considered to be a major one. The role begins taping on October 24.

A lab technician? Are they bringing back the Jabot lab? Ashley was always in her element there.

I'm thinking that he might have something to do with Sharon and paternity of Summer. Betcha he'll blackmail her just for us all to find out that Sharon didn't even touch the results, but instead blacked out in the lab and assumed she did. That'd at least be the more logical and sensible approach to this story....

Nobody probably remembers this but months ago, I ranted that Mason should've been brought on as a lab technician working in the lab at Jabot, instead of just as Sarge's nephew turned Hillary's hustler beau. I periodically ranted that Jabot needed to get back to its roots and create cosmetics and it was missing Ashley in that lab.

Funny, how things are evolving since then.

I wouldn't stake money on this but I'm thinking that this is in regards to Jabot business. I think the paternity storylines (with the possible exception of Victoria's) will be finished in the near future. By the time they cast this role, I think Y&R will have moved on. This character seems like he will be on for an indefinite period of time, so I'm thinking Jabot Labs.

It's definitely my opinion that the show doesn't need to rewrite even more storylines and create even huger plot holes just to prop your favorite character. %100 my opinion.

I agree to anything to keep Summer as Jack. I had another idea about what happen to the paternity of Summer.
