There's also a somewhat obnoxious piece from EW that I'm not going to link to on FWWM which talks about the film's merits but still claims it's too ugly, nasty and angry at the world - also, supposedly the other EW podcaster tried to take credit for John Thorne's (of Wrapped in Plastic fanzine fame) legendary "Deer Meadow dream" theory from the '90s on their TP podcast, before walking it back and admitting he'd read it in the zine. The EW pieces on Peaks so far have gone back and forth week to week - there was a very good one on Season 2 linked a page or so ago - but most of them I find glib and desperate to impress while out of their depth.

I just read that. Ugh. Disgusted that they criticized the movie for not treating Laura's experiences as more "fun" and for trying to act like Lynch was just being trendy. And of course the obligatory Sopranos reference, because it always has to go back to that overrated pap.

 

EW is such a smarmy self-parody.

 

And calling Laura and Teresa "log ladies" and going TIMBER! at the end? 

 

Embarrassing.
