He apparently died of natural causes at 70. Of note, his ex-wife Judy Pace (they were married, per the article, from 1972 to 1986) also played Sanger's wife on the show. Their daughter, Julia Pace-Mitchell, was formerly on Y&R. I had no idea that both of her parents were important black actors. I hope one day her acting improves because just from knowing her moms work, she was really fabulous.
