The rape happened in early 1988. I just hope it isn't done to make JJ love Daniel and hate his father.

Kayla should never married Jack, though it was wrong of him to force her to have sex with him. What I don't understand is how JJ didn't already know what his father did... He was infamous and his adoptive father Harper was a criminal. I could get understand this better if JJ was younger or if the internet isn't what it is today.

Why and how would JJ know about this? Many viewers don't even know about this. Its not as if its something that's been brought up frequently and its something that continually haunted Jack till the day he died. Its not like on OLTL where Todd's rapist past was always on the surface. Part of that drove his character and the people around him and he was always a despicable person so that made it people more open to throw that in his face. Jack changed and it was swept under the rug. I honestly don't see how JJ was supposed to know this nor why people would expect him to.

If it is public knowledge that Kayla pressed charges against Jack for rape. He also ran for Senate, and both Jack's adoptive and biological fathers were criminals. When Jack passed away everything that happened in Jack's life good and bad would have been rehashed in the media. While JJ was in Europe, I can understand him not seeing this coverage. I just don't get why no one was whispering behind his back once they knew where he came from...

Jack died in an accident in an event that claimed several lives. The media coverage focused on the earthquake and the tragedy; it wasn't a smear campaign for the victims. From what we saw there were general tributes to celebrate all the victims; Jack wasn't singled out.

His father was a criminal....so what? Its not like JJ knew him and that doesn't establish a link for which JJ should have known about the rape based on his dead grandfathers sins.

Why would anyone be whispering behind his back? Seriously, why would anyone talk be talking about a rape that happened like 25 years ago that hasn't been relevant to any of the characters since JJ came back? I don't see why this would necessarily be brought up in conversations

They are really trying hard to make JJ happen. I guess this is because so many new characters are leaving and all the young talent is being bled out? I can't remember the last time a newbie character (legacy or not) got this much airtime on Days.

That really can't be the reason - these scenes were taped 4 months ago (late May) and were written a month before that at the very least. The show didn't know Chandler, Camilla and Casey were leaving (although they may have thought so) back then.

According to Jason47's site, he has been on 47 times from May to August, averaging about 12 episodes a month, out of 22 a month. That's hardly trying "to make JJ happen" as you say or excessive airtime like James Scott and Alison Sweeney who have averaged 19/20 episodes a month in the past on a regular basis.

Agreed that this is a GOOD promo!! I really look forward to this storyline playing out. I really appreicate it when Days remembers its history, and especially when it's 25 year old history that can influence story today. It makes perfect sense that JJ would know nothing about this since J/J obviously wouldn't have told a child about the dad's sexual abuse (especially when JJ has spent considerable time out of the country/in boarding school) and how fitting that a coming of age, already troubled, teenager would find out a dirty secret that puts a stain on his dad's image. I agree though that this better not be a way to turn JJ into a Danifer supporter, especially at the expense of Jack's memory. Also, I love that MBE is on-screen to interact with JJ in these scenes.
