Sorry to hear this. They were that perfect blend of schmaltz and charisma that is now consigned to a nostalgia circuit. Our loss.

I liked when they popped up on The Nanny.

Sad, they would be on every telethon every year shmaltzing it up old school style.   She had a tremendous voice but never reached the success others in her genre had, perhaps because of her act.    It's sad that that entire generation of entertainers and that style is pretty much all gone now.   Paul Anka is still around but that's about it.

 

This was their trademark song, which is pretty catchy but you can see the act never really favored anything but a Vegas type nightclub circa 1960.

The sound quality on this is poor, and the song selection gets very cheesy, in a bad way, at about 4 minutes, but the first parts are great. She sounds terrific on "You've Made Me So Very Happy."

I miss this type of earnestness. It's kitsch, but sometimes that's the best part of music.
