If nothing else, the launch of this show shows at least some confidence that the shows will weather the latest storm, not to mention further commitment by PP to them.

I'm wondering if they are actually paying for this show--after all, didn't Bo namecheck BlogTalkRadio on OLTL when he said to Nora he set up everything for her to have her own online radio show? I expect there to be a lot more frequent BTR mentions as that storyline progresses.

No, I think it says it all about the soap press, these days. It's been a cossetted little industry of 99% hacks for at least over a decade, but now, in the digital age where everyone's twitter feed is an excuse for public drama, it's something mutant and utterly incompetent.

Pretty much. Small crazy fish in a small crazy pond. The only member of the "soap press" that doesn't make me roll my eyes is TVLine and that's mainly because they aren't really part of the soap press but they still cover them. TV Line covers soaps like they do every other TV show out there. They'll report soap news then move on to Rizzoli & Isles, Grey's, Real Housewives, etc.... They treat soaps as just a piece of the larger TV universe so there isn't all this desperate preciousness.

And yet we still get so many great interviews that are posted here, from the same press that gets lambasted

You and I clearly have different definitions for the word "great."

What are you expecting them to be asked, though? "Why won't you share with GH?" "Tell us what you love about Ron Carlivati's work at OLTL and GH, and why you felt you needed these characters?" Because that's what half these people would be asking. Meanwhile, digging into the minutiae of administrative or BTS choices really isn't done even at the network level, with any show, from any of those people. And when they do attempt to ask those kind of questions in a gentler way, they are almost always rebuffed. They avoid those questions in any real way because they are all terrified of losing access.

How will we ever survive without hard hitting journalism like that?
