They got so far ahead because the whole studio has to shut down for at least 12 weeks during the year. This means no one comes to work at all. So eventually they ended up 4 months ahead.

4 months is so ridiculous though. GH goes a week or two without anyone taping several times a year. In fact, the studio was just dark this past week and taping will resume on Monday. Yet they still only tape about 4 weeks ahead.

The studio is dark at GH about one to two weeks most months and honestly it shows in the rushed product put out.
