AMC: The Prospect Park Era (old production thread)

I have no doub't Agnes had some capacity of DS. Her Goth reminds me of DS plus the Sam Hall/Gordan Russell connection is enough to prove she worked on that show.

LOL No she did not work on that show. Considering she was busy writing two soaps at the same time for big chunks of DS's run (first GL and AW together, then not long after OLTL and AW together for 8 or so months and soon after AMC and OLTL, she was NOT involved with DS. :P

But I think she had some mild interest in what they were doing at the very least. SHe always said how she wished she had done what DS producer Dan Curtis did and paid to keep all theoriginal videos of his show, and not only is there the Sam Hall/Gordon RUssell connection with One Life--writers (at least Russell) who she picked herself, Art Wallace, who largely created Dark Shadows (even if he wrote largely for thew less popular gothic, but not supernatural first six months) was hired as story consultant for a good chunk of the 70s at AMC.

allmc, the image of you holding one of these dinosaurs

cassette-recorder.jpg

up to your laptop for our Eric has made my day.

Old ladies with doilies on their heads used to bring these to church to record the sermon (inevitably dropping them and releasing a sea of D batteries onto the cold, hard elementary school all-purpose room floor).

LOL It was a sweet offer AllMC--thanks.

I hope you don't have to resort to iTunes. No offense iTunes, but if these episodes can be had for free, why would anyone go that route unless they really had to? Can't hulu be watched via mobile?

Ithink it can? (In the US...) I like that with iTunes you could keep the episodes (and actually if they're in mp4 format I can and have before downloaded their TV shows and then just used a flashdrive to watch them on my real TV--which takes about 30 seconds to do, and I would prefer,) but I wonder about the cost--and as much as it's nice to download the episodes and not just have them streaming, seriously after 20+ I don't know if I can justify saving them except for key ones like I did when it aired on TV.

I assume iTunes would have some cheaper option than for most of their shows just because people would be buying 4+ episodes a week--not 2 dollars an episode or whatever they usually charge. It would be smart to offer the first week or few weeks for free--the way networks now often release the premiers of their new shows to iTunes for free a few weeks before.

Hulu is region protected, but there are ways around it for people outside the US. (I'm in the US so not an issue, but I know that people have work arounds.)

Yeah hopefully I'll work something out...

Oh, the irony.

Where the HELL have I been? I never knew he played Dick Facey.

I can't.

LOL Me neither... AndI misread allmc's original comment too...

It's weird that TODAY the mods come down hard when literally nothing happened.

Right now I'm debating whether or not to watch the shows as soon as they're posted while at work or wait until I get home. Or even then wait til the weekend so I can watch them in a 2 hour stretch. It's kind of exciting.

I wonder if it'll be on the HuluPlus that's available on our DVD player.

I don't think there's any other Hulu Plus. Umm what kinda work do you do that you can watch 40 mins of programming?

For EricMontreal & other international viewers

The OLTL Twitter says to stay tuned for international viewing info icon1.gif

Wow that twitter thread got snarky fast--sigh, soap fans. Thanks for that--I hope that doesn't mean tey'll work it out three months later :P But I know I'm just worrying and something will work out--it wouldbe too cruel for it not to.

While I do think that SL is in a league of her own across all soap operas and in the mainstream media, I am also very happy that JB finally seems to be getting the "star" treatment she so richly deserves as one of the finest actresses in this or any genre.

I'd love it if Adam & Brooke raised AJ and they're still in conflict with Dixie. I'm just so glad Julia Barr is finally getting her due as the leading lady of this show!

Thanks for that. THere are some similar programs that charge a 7 dollar monthly fee--which sounds liek a scam for me. I'm a bit weary of that page too (I never trust free net things...) but will have to investigate.

Do we know if any of the older players did single or couple shots? I hope those are coming down the line...

Supposedly, there are more shots to come via paos revolution - and I believe during the BTS, they had JR and AJ in a singular shot, so best guess is that individual/couples/family photos were also taken on the day.

What I can do is is set up a cam-corder by my laptop and record the episodes then send them to YT. Or I can use my Cassette recorder to record the Audio then replay then send them to you.

As lame as it sounds, there was a time when I would use a cassette recorder to tape TV shows (okay, just the soaps) when the family was going out. And Eric, where I live in VT is only about 65 km from Stanstead, QC, so if you're willing to drive south, you can watch with me. wink.png

Stay gold, allmc.

I never thought back in 1970, there would ever be a debate involving Ray MacDonnell's crotch. Guess there really is a day for everything.

Maybe they are trying to milk Canadian viewers like Eric by forcing them to buy them from Itunes.

I also thought this was going somewhere else, which is what would happen if Eric drove down to Vermont to watch with me.laugh.png

There you go and you don't have to drive anywhere!

Not gonna lie it makes me happy they're starting airing on my birthday LOL.

And LMAO at the debate over the photo. I swear we debate the strangest things sometimes!

It still seems surreal to me too about the shows coming back. I can't wait to watch and I appreciate every effort they put into doing this.

Assuming Shannon Kane's Twitter and these Q&A answers are real, sounds like Shannon will be guesting/recurring

3. Are you going to be part of All My Children when it become a Web series?
Hmmmmmm.... we're working on a little something something :)

Yay! Would love to see her on AMC again, even guesting.

I think we're going to see a lot of past actors popping up as guests. Lots of the actors were tweeting about 'shocked to see this person' etc. or "I can't believe who I worked with" etc.
