Nelson always believed it would happen though, and was never a naysayer like many on this board.

The point of his reporting on the financials was to show that PP could afford to pay even more. I don't begrudge him for reporting on what a source gave him.

I don't have to listen to the link, even your summary agrees he said it would happen.

Fair enough, but he was extremely, extremely negative and catty about it just a month back--after he posted those. But, really, given his past behaviour nobody should be surprised.

I stand corrected about Mr Peanut! I just assumed he was Jordi's...

He has been down on PP being able to do this, he tweeted that if PP didnt talk to hom, he would tell what his moles were saying. Yeah blackmail makes a company wanna talk. This guy has no defense

I've been working in the industry for almost a decade now, and I've never heard anyone say anything positive about Nelson Branco.

Consider how much stuff we know was initially reported by Nelson Branco ... The 4 days a week (still not officially confirmed), the Connecticut studios, also the very idea that Prospect Park really had a detailed plan for this going forward.. If you're going to bash Branco, remember to thank him too for that news back in December when it was all so nebulous.

PS: I am no fan of his, because he hates David Kreizman and has had a very shrill tone about bashing someone who I believe to be a good writer ("show killer", "killer Kreizman", etc). He generally is really dramatic and exaggerated. I do acknowledge that he has broken important news that I have found useful and informative though.

Nelson got that info leaked to him. Someone gave him those documents, not PP. He did not have premission to print those

Jeff Kwaintz confirmed all of this to soaps.com who he gave an exclusive interview too a while back

Reporters get stuff leaked to them ... It's what reporters do. The press is not company public relations.

With all due respect Jfung, I refuse to give Nelson any credit for breaking *any* news. He spreads mis-information at least as much as he spreads valid information (remember his almost gleeful insistance that David Canary had some extremely serious illness back around the time when Stuart was shot? Even if there was some truth to that, if David didn't say anything it obviously was not something that Nelson hadthe right to repeatedly release in print--there's a reason TVGuide Canada fired him. Like a lot of the online soap press, he doesn't seem to realize that you can't have it both ways--being a soap gossip columnist while also wanting the industry to treat you with respect and valid info.)

I give him a lot of credit for what he does, but he's always starting problems and causing drama behind the scenes. He's a troublemaker.

OMG, I remember that. Thanks to him, the Daytime community was bracing itself for Canary's death.

Deadline (PMC: Penske Media Corp) reported by Nellie Andreeva was the first to report Prospect Park's plans to relaunch AMC and OLTL on December 17th and that Nelson Branco's news was a follow up on that.
