I agree, the first one looks good, the second one, not so much, and of course every other state will hate on PR for claiming that dead center star. :lol:

I was shocked at the result. The office I work in is majority Puerto Rican and people were saying their families were all voting for the Enhanced Commonwealth option.

I was hoping Washington, DC would be the 51st state when I saw its ironic license plate:

But Puerto Rico would be cool for me too. It has been 50 my whole life. 51 would be cool.

Yeah, I'm from the D.C. area and Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton has been pressing statehood for years. She represents Washingtonians in Congress yet has zero voting rights. Many suspect that D.C. has had trouble becoming a state because it's overwhelmingly Democratic.

Norton has not been able to convince Democratic congresses to allow D.C. to be a state so I have always thought that the reason is that Congress loves autocratically ruling D.C. and doing what they want while living there.
