Members Wales2004
Say anything you'd like.. Me: I'm just ranting. Wednesday morning I turn on ESPN-Radio L.A. right after listening to one of my favorite egomaniacs Dan Patrick (Fox Sports Radio L.A.) explain why criticizing black quarterbacks (specifically Cam Newton) is not racist. Mike and Mike are still haggling over whether Ndamukong Suh's hit on Jay Cutler is legal. Hmmm.....the NFL ruled that it was legal yesterday. It happened on MNF and was discussed ad nauseum yesterday. They bring it up today on the flimsy premise that Brandon Marshall called into ESPN's "First Take" yesterday and said it was a "dirty" hit. ESPN loves to use happenings on their own shows to manufacture controversy just because they can. Disney needs to get out of the sports business. ESPN's experts are brainwashing me into believing that Justin Verlander cannot lose....yet I'm sure he did not have a perfect record. All their "experts" parrot how unstoppable he is. Forgive me....I'm blind but I could have sworn that one-third of the NL's All-Star game starters were from the SF Giants. And I could have sworn that they scored runs off Justin Verlander and won the game for the NL, which gave them home field advantage for the World Series which no "expert" seems to remember. Does this mean that all those smart men are wrong and Justin Verlander won't shut out the SF Giants? No. It means that he may not be as automatic as they say. They just make me want so badly for them to be wrong.
Members Wales2004
Oh wow....the experts were totally wrong. Justin Verlander didn't shut the SF Giants out--they ran him out of the game like they did at the All Star Game. It was probably deja vu for him. So much for Curt Schilling's excellent analysis and prediction.
Members DAYSjunkie1987
As much as it pains me to say it being a Tigers fan and all (and Justin Verlander being my favorite player. Double ouch.), it was the Giants that were just unstoppable. Congrats to them.
Members Wales2004
I live in between the Dodgers and the Angels. I wish they would have just changed their name back to the California Angels instead of the ridiculously long and inaccurate Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Los Angeles is not even in the same county as Anaheim and misleading people is not making that team any more popular. Now since ESPN insists on spending the day celebrating the 10th anniversary their analyst's Herm Edwards rant for some bizarre reason, I'll just post some other rants: This one isn't really a rant. It's more of an explanation of the problem with a solution. <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/c6brYtuPX-Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> This coach got a little testy: <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/U7fjDS0jKiE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I guess this coach got even testier: <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SWmQbk5h86w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> and this coach is a man and he's 40: <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/RjF93E4LjlA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Members Becki
RIP Pascual Perez. I grew up in Georgia so when he played for the Braves, even though the team sucked, I enjoyed watching him pitch.

Members MissLlanviewPA
Hail to the Redskins, Hail victory, Braves on the warpath, FIGHT FOR OLD D.C.! They may be my second favorite team after the Colts, but damn it, they're my hometown team! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1zJeGf-gpc
Members Wales2004
I liked the sign about partying like it's 1999. That is an awful long time to have gone nowhere. With no local football team and having gotten over the Cowboys, I root for whatever team strikes my fancy. I wanted them to beat the Cowboys last night and it was great. I turned out to be more of a Peyton Manning fan than a fan of the Colts. Their owner, Jim Irsay, is nowhere close to Jerry Jones but he was awfully obnoxious with his tweeting about Peyton Manning in the lead up to cutting him. He also seems to want to be seen as a football genius for drafting Andrew Luck. The Texans should hunt for a better quarterback and put themselves in a better position. Some of the more pedestrian quarterbacks (such as Matt Schaub) benefit from phenomenal defenses, e.g. Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson. The Texans are not phenomenal at defense so they need to be a whole lot stronger on offense. I just hope when and if L.A. gets a football team, it's not the Chargers--although now that Norv Turner is gone....but then again this is the owner that got rid of Marty Shottenheimer after a 14-2 season. Sure he didn't think that MS would get them far but I see Norv Turner took them to the Superbowl...oh wait he didn't either. Since I'm no Kobe Bryant fan, I don't care one iota about the Lakers (and their obnoxious whining fans). I am so loving the Clippers right now. http://youtu.be/gh4aDO0d9VM
