Monday's Y&R

Featured Replies

After watching today's B&B I was already weepy. And then on Monday's Y&R Nikki and Victor were at the Ranch reminiscing and being so sad and tender and the theme song played and I got chills and I almost bought into it all. And then I remembered what Victor was doing last month and it just all fell flat and fast.

Surely what MM said about us needing to forget 85% of the past is NOT true. Surely JG and JFP do not, will not mishandle the show and us fans that way?

That's not what Muhney said. He said we'd need to forget 85% of MARIA'S TENURE.

That's what I meant - the past as written by Maria.

What does whatever crap that was gonig on last month have to do with them being sad over their home burning down?

I just can't fathom any sympathy for Victor or any desire to see him reunited with Nikki because of the way he has been up until he collapsed a few days ago.

Victor's been an ass for quite some time. I have no desire to see him reunite with Nikki because she's always dirt under his shoe and I've been enjoying watching him and his brats suffer.

Honestly, I'd be happy to overlook certain characters' behavior over the last 3 (atrocious) years. It's really the only way the show can move on without resorting to hideous MAB-style retcons.

To those that know: Do JG and JFP do proper redemption SLs? I think Sharon is not the only character who needs one.

They'd have to do redemption stories for the majority of characterson the show. I mean certain characters we can just can all together like Cane. No need to redeem that con artist.

I am thinking primarily of Adam, Victor, Phyllis desperately needing redemption (IMO). I don't want them to be perfect but I think Maria had them do things that need to be addressed properly.

He has had so many light-bulb moments and reverted back, he is a joke now (to everyone but his kids and Katherine). Is that how TGVN should be presented to viewers?

After Victor compared Nikki to their dog, about one having the good sense to not bite the hand that feeds you, I was kind of over them.

That was so mean, albeit hilarious.

Nikki was acting all big and bad when she was with Deacon earlier this year but was quick to fold with Victor. She just likes to be emotionally abused.

Remember Christmas when he changed and the next day was back to being an ass?

I don't need anybody to change, I just need perspective in the writing. I don't want everybody kissing Phyllis and Victor's ass. Acknowledge that they do bad things and there should be people who are allowed to dislike them without being portrayed as bad people for doing so. The writing for Christine and Jack is particularly glaring.

When Jack Smith wrote Y&R he redeemed Kevin, but Kevin was still an outsider. People acknowledged his crimes and certain people chose to give him a second chance and that's their choice. His victims were allowed to be his victims and stayed away from him. As soon as LML took over and continuing with MAB, they started to demonize his victims and force everybody to kiss his ass and that was the end of me enjoying his character. Now the same thing has happened with Victor and Phyllis.

I hope maybe everybody coming down on Jack is a red herring. I agree that many things went wrong during MAB's tenure. I just want them to be resolved, not swept under the rug.
