Members Dale
I don't understand how or why anybody who loves the daytime genre wouldn't just be happy about any ratings increase for any show.
Members marceline
Because some people don't believe in celebrating a product they find to be of low quality all in the name of "the genre." I love the sci-fi genre, that doesn't mean I'll root for any crappy show. I made it through one and half episodes of "The Cape" and was perfectly happy when it got canceled because it was a poor quality show. Pretending garbage is gold is part of the reason the genre is in this position. If you are happy for GH cool but the idea that others should be happy about a product they find sub-par all in the name of groupthink and loyalty is based on IMO a flawed idea of the viewers' role. Viewers are customers, not partners, and they have ever right to love or hate a show regardless of what state the precious "genre" is in.
Members Dale
Being happy or not with any show is not my point. With the state that the genre is in, with soaps disappearing every year, any increase or gain for any show is something to be positive about. I am not a GH fan, but glad to see they made some gains. Members frequentsoapfan
I disagree why should fans be happy GH got a bump for more storyline stunts? If the show was better written, produced, and acted yes; but that is not the case.
