January 21, 200620 yr Member Come on GL!!!!!!!! Sesame Street.....I mean Passions is trying to go for that #8 spot. GL will get better and so will the ratings. Days and Passions will fall flat cause JERk will pull out all the crap he can think of to win sweeps and then it will be back to the same ol repetitive stuff and the ratings will fall again. It's like clockwork, this man never ceases to disgust me. GL beat OLTL in total viewers on thursday! WOW! Miracles can happen even if it lasts for one day. DK better get with program cause the day Passions beats GL in Households and Total Viewers is the day I storm into DK's office hog tie him and take over as head writer.
January 21, 200620 yr Member Yeah I agree-its great that the NBC soaps are slowly building up their numbers. It is so much better that way and, historically, means that they both won't crash and burn. They may go down a little but not back to the depths of 1.7 (passions) and 2.5(Days) at least for awhile. Days stabilized over the fall and from Novmeber on has been slowly inching up with Passions so this bodes well for NBC. They are off to a great 2006 and from the looks of both shows I think things will continue to get better. I am happy for all the soaps numbers. Its good to see some postives. I still can't believe some of those Passions dailies compared to GL's Fansoap. Its incredible. I am happy for all soaps but especially for my Days and Passions as well. I will hope that Days can maintain its numbers for this week. I would love it to go up and hit 3.0 and for Passions to hit 2.0 but I doubt it. It might for Days because stuff actually happened but Passions slowed a bit so I will just be happy if next week's numbers are pretty much the same.
January 21, 200620 yr Member So Toups, your ratings source is standing by the AMC/GH rating number for that week? I wonder if SOW put the same numbers out for the 1/3 week. January 21, 200620 yr Author Administrator So Toups, your ratings source is standing by the AMC/GH rating number for that week? I wonder if SOW put the same numbers out for the 1/3 week. My source doesn't know yet. Yeah, I wonder what SOW/SOD put.
January 21, 200620 yr Member Here are the ratings for the week of Jan. 2-6, 2006 according to SOW... Households 1. Y&R 4.2/14 2. B&B 3.3/11 3. ATWT 2.8/9 3 DAYS 2.8/9 3 GH 2.8/8 6. AMC 2.6/8 6. OLTL 2.6/8 8. GL 2.2/7 9 PAS 1.9/6
January 21, 200620 yr Member Ah, thanks crc, I was just about to put that up (just got my hands on the new SOW).
January 21, 200620 yr Member I am so happy that NBC did so well this week. Go Days! Almost at a 3.0.........so close! I bet we'll be there next week.
January 21, 200620 yr Member #3 in HH #3 in Total Viewers #3 in Male Viewers #3 in Females 12-17 #1 in Women 18-34 #1 in Women 18-49 #3 in Women 25-54 IMO those are AWESOME placings for DAYS OF OUR LIVES. So happy for them, especially this week, they TRULY deserved to go up and place highly on ALL the ratings lists. DAYS has slowly been gaining .1 a month in averages, IMO this is GOOD news for the show because slow steady gains often stick better than huge spikes in the ratings. Lets HOPE that DAYS can crack 3.0 next week, but Im not gonna get my hopes up. Also lets hope DAYS can nab #1 in 18-49 again!
January 21, 200620 yr Member If Thursday's show didnt have so so numbers, DAYS would have hit a 3.0! I am just glad DAYS seems to be inching up in viewers, slowly but surely. I do wish for at least a week DAYS could be outright number 1 in the 18-49 demos, but I am thrilled its at least tied for first. I think DAYS should be able to hold onto these numbers and with February just around the corner, DAYS should be in awesome shape for renegotitions in March.

If DAYS can just sustain their numers in the 2.7-3.0 range through the rest of January, they are in VERY good position for February Sweeps and then March when renegotiations start.
January 21, 200620 yr Member What will it take for OLTL to get out of their rut? A solid 2.5 and third to last for months, they're still sucking. Oh, i know! Get rid of Dena Higley!
January 22, 200620 yr Member What will it take for OLTL to get out of their rut? A solid 2.5 and third to last for months, they're still sucking. Oh, i know! Get rid of Dena Higley! I'm afraid that getting rid of DH alone won't do the trick. The show needs interesting well paced and well acted stories. Character driven plots, romance and family. Instead we get contrived plot points, the destruction of the core family, zero continuity and attention to detail while the acting challenged suck up the majority of the screen time. IOW until the show decides to offer something beyond the status quo to lure back those who have stopped or are in the process of stopping to watch it's not going to rise in the ratings.
January 22, 200620 yr Member DK better get with program cause the day Passions beats GL in Households and Total Viewers is the day I storm into DK's office hog tie him and take over as head writer. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but it HAS already happened. In January 2005 PSNS beat GL in total viewers. PSNS was #8. GL was #9.
January 22, 200620 yr Member Passions is really getting better now, including the acting, plots, and dialogue. The writing is better than it has been since 2003.so don't be suprised if it beats guiding light in HH in weeks to come .
