Members Sylph
We already have a thread about TV & film soundtracks, but I wanted to open this one to focus on TV music used for various (news and other) countdowns, opens, closes, promo beds, idents, fanfare and an assortment of ad music. What are some of your favourites? Let me start with Sky. This one is by Adelphoi Music, a group of composers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FDvTzh8Lhk Here is the new one, from May, by David Arnold (but not the James Bond David Arnold, though again a Brit): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1K1MGolQiw
Members Sylph
And the financial bed, a variation of the previous one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItWIidMaQ24 Plus the BBC countdown, by David Lowe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukGCgLiYtGc

Members SFK
I love that one too and will actually miss it when the season's over! I think the choice to go with a guys chorus is what makes it unique and gives it a cool edge.
Members All My Shadows
I have a strange love for sports themes. My favorite being this version of the old FOX baseball theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li2cuKb_Suo And also, the 70s era NFL Today had a nice bouncy disco theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBKFbc7sRis

Members alphanguy74
Now, see how DRAMATIC and exciting that opening was? That was a time when alot of thought went into opening for any kind of TV show. Then in the 90's we get Will and Grace with 10 seconds of stupid piano music that and eigth grader could have composed, and one shot of the cast with fans blowing on them. Big freakin woo. My favorite of all time for dramatic opening is this one: Please register in order to view this content
