Yeah, I remember that. Every Friday they would dish live a la The View. Did Oprah ever give a formal statement as to why she canned it?

I don't think so. I guess since this is her final season, she's got bigger fish to fry than dishing current events roundtable-style. "Friday Live", yeah, I actually liked it every now and then. Of course the problem is people who aren't used to being on TV every day like Oprah have to try and make their moments every other second. I will say this about Gayle though, she has her moments, but she never tries to pull focus from Oprah. She knows the deal. She subbed for Meredith as moderator on The View once, and I thought dhe did a very good job.

Wow, Joy and Whoopi grandstanding and O'Reilly getting free PR finally come with a bonus -- Juan Williams, Republican sycophant known for such gems as saying Michelle Obama is Stokely Carmichael in a dress, has gotten the boot from NPR.

Oh wow, I've met this guy a couple of times, he's a family friend of one of my best friends whose dad (crusty conservative) works for NPR. I guess I'm dense, but I always assumed he was closer to my friend's mom in terms of liberal political leanings. What a disappointment.
