May 24, 201015 yr Member Yes, it's another awards show! Based in Ireland. Eastenders didn't win anything (I'm not sure if they ever do -- perhaps the memory of the Ireland episodes still holds firm...). Kat Kelly won Best Actress. Someone from Fair City won Best Actor. The Dingles won Best Family. I guess Emmerdale finally won something Seriously though, the Dingles are a great family when they get the material (like Aaron's coming out, or Debbie and Jasmine and Eli covering up Shane Doyle's murder, and stories from many years ago like Butch Dingle's death), so I'm glad they won something. Here are some photos. A number of Corrie and Emmerdale actors were there. http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/Search/Search.aspx?contractUrl=2&language=en-GB&family=editorial&assetType=image&ep=3&ebd=2010-05-21&p=tv%20%20now%20awards# http://www.showbizireland.com/news/may10/23-tvnow-2010-red-carpet.shtml
May 24, 201015 yr Author Member Here are some photos of Emmerdale cast members stuck at the airport. (The site probably isn't safe for work, as they have a shot of Danny Miller's Cosmo shoot near the top of the blog) http://aaronofemmerdale.blogspot.com/2010/05/danny-and-crew-at-airport.html
May 24, 201015 yr Member Who is the guy in the red plaid shirt? Danny Miller looks very yummy. Very different from Aaron. Edited May 24, 201015 yr by Amello
May 24, 201015 yr Member What can y'all tell me about Fair City? I'm not looking to pick up yet *another* show, but I'm just wondering. I want to be familiar with its history and characters and what-not, and given that it only has 20 years worth, I'm curious.
May 24, 201015 yr Author Member Fair City is one of those I've never seen, although there are some clips on Youtube. I've heard it's not great but then I guess that's a criticism all soaps get, so it may not be fair. Amello, I think the guy in the red shirt is producer Gavin Blyth.
May 24, 201015 yr Member Actually, they've always claimed Fair City is meant for ONLY Irish audiences, and not international audiences. And if you've seen it, you can definitely tell why. It's appeal is very Irish and not very universal. It's never been considered a "great" show, but again, it doesn't have a very wide target audience inside or outside of Ireland.
