April 14, 201015 yr Member That's one of those eras of RH I've never seen. So he was part of "Kirkland's Hope." He was Kim's father?
April 14, 201015 yr Author Member Yes,he was Kim's father. Then there was his other daughter Amanda and wife Catsy. The Kirklands dominated the show for a while.
April 14, 201015 yr Member As much as I love Ryan's Hope, I never saw him there. I did LOVE LOVE LOVE him on SFT when PGP AOL was airing the show. His role was later recast and it was never the same. A very charming actor.
April 15, 201015 yr Member This may be about the only footage of him on Ryan's Hope on the internet - the episode in which he and his family were written off. March 4, 1983: Part 1 March 4, 1983: Part 3 He seemed like he was a good actor; so was Christine Jones (obviously). It's a shame the characters stuck out like a sore thumb on RH - unlike the hour-long soaps, it was much harder to shoehorn a mega-wealthy family onto the canvas. I didn't know his work that well, but RIP. What a sad week as far as TV stars of yesteryear. Edited April 15, 201015 yr by DeliaIrisFan
April 15, 201015 yr Member I did a double take at seeing Ilene with the 80s hair and the more upscale clothes. I don't remember her like that a bit later. Were they transitioning her out of Randall's run? The irony is from what I've heard, the period with the Kirklands was still a lot more like RH than the stuff later on when Joe Stuart and Pat Falken Smith ran roughshod and did their best to push the Ryans to the side.
