My God, I love this show soooo much!

There is not a single thing that I didn't enjoy. From the terror of what's happening up North to the magic and disgustingness of Dany's travels.

Maergery took me by surprise; her move with the orphans is not what I expected at all and I cannot tell for sure whether she truly means it or if it is a part of a plan. I can tell that the bitchfest between Cersei and Maergery will be thrilling to watch. Meanwhile, Tyrion vs Tywin was also great. You gotta love a show that can do gore, fantasy, action AND conflicting personal drama well.

The nipple moment was horrifying--and I would have never expected less! Loved the whole thing with that magical spider (whatever that is), even though the CGI was a little dodgy. And, of course, the dragons! Nice twist at the end, too.

Welcome back Game of Thrones!

I had to turn away from the nipple. That was gratuitous and I don't even want to think about it.

I liked the premiere a lot. The giant was very cool and I like the dragons are growing up. As for the characters and stories this year, I liked that that guard from season 1 showed up with Dany all these episodes later. That's a good memory on the part of the plot. Jon Snow looks to be spending another year on his own, and whatever happened to his uncle he went looking for two seasons ago? Tywin and Tyrion were great: Lannister Sr is just a mean, mean guy but a lot of what he says is vaguely based on fact. Tyrion would furnish the house with whores. I get the sense Littlefinger has sexual designs on Sansa, and Robb should start being nicer to his mother. I wish we saw Jaime this week and whatever became of Greyjoy but the cast is so big. And I love, love that Jon's wolf is on the job fighting for justice and The Watch.

I did enjoy Tywin/Tyrion's conversation. Tywin is such a bastard. I felt for Tyrion. It is a miracle that he survived the cruelty of his father and sister, but then he did have Jamie.

I read the NY Times' article on GOT. HBO's executives doe not sound as enthused about the show as I would expect and seem particularly embarrassed about its fantasy element. Very odd.

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.

    • Ive seen that theory thrown out but the one thing against it is that Leslie and her family lived in Chicago. She only came back to DC last year after her husband died. Unless they say Alan made a trip to DC and died while away, she wouldnt know about that. However I do think the angle of her finding out that Martin was involved could work as that gives her leverage against Bill too for covering it up. She'd want to get revenge on him by threatening to have him disbarred
    • What a good write-up @Errol! Nice seeing the nod to Duplaix's lead.
    • The Egypt location shoot was cancelled because of the Achille Lauro cruise ship hijacking

    • And, to me it is a little bit hilarious that AW fans all over continue to refer to it as Egyptian Dust Recently elsewhere I've been running polls. When did you stop watching AW or What storyline caused you to stop watching AW. You may be interested to know that sticking it out till the bitter end is winning by a landslide. Next highest vote getter is - no surprise - Frankie's murder. So that covers like 60% & next 20%. Then the votes drop way down to 10% and well below but a wide array of reasons are given, including but not limited to  Justine Lumina Rachel having twins at her age, how ridiculous Mac's death the 90 minute show firing JC, George R & Dwyer Hmm, I know there are a few more, in the 1%-3% range but I cannot think of what they are. Sorry, my bad. Should have made notes but I didn't know I would be posting about it. LOL!!
    • A kind angel has added both episodes to the vault (UK Diva TV broadcast version).
    • Yes, I think that is the most likely situation.  TPTB were unhappy with the offer(s) they got from the tourism board in Finland, and decided the trip was going to be too expensive for P&G/NBC to finance alone.   I would also speculate a similar situation likely occurred a few years later with the planned location shoot in Egypt, which was also cancelled after the storyline had already started, and changed to Arizona.
