December 17, 200916 yr Author Administrator I just hope Simon and Cheryl are judging the US X-Factor. Louie can stay away!!! Having him on one show is enough.
January 31, 201016 yr Member Simon's endless Danyl hype now seems even more ridiculous. http://www.digitalspy.com/xfactor/news/a200527/cowell-wont-sign-x-factor-finalists.html Simon Cowell has reportedly decided not to sign any of last year's X Factor finalists. Cowell's record label Syco has allegedly chosen to focus on the show's winner Joe McElderry instead of working with Stacey Solomon, Danyl Johnson or runner-up Olly Murs. "Simon has decided he won't have anything to do with them in a professional sense going forward," a source told the News of the World. "He doesn't have anything against the guys but wants to concentrate on turning Joe McElderry into a star.
January 31, 201016 yr Member I'd expect someone to pick up Olly and he'll have limited success then break out via reality tv. The others? Not so much. It was a dull year. They have their work cut out for them trying to make Joe a star. Good luck with that. Still irritated by his coming out as straight. Should've said nothing. When he eventually does come out people will look back at that and laugh. Kinda like Clay Aiken.

When he eventually does come out people will look back at that and laugh. Kinda like Clay Aiken. Saying nothing is usually the same as saying you're gay. As much as I wish pop stars could be open about their sexuality, I think being closeted probably gave Clay the success he had. He had a generally conservative fanbase and he made a lot of money from them. Then when he had less of a career, he was free to come out. The people who laughed were the people who hated him in the first place. The same may be true for Joe. No one from this show, aside from Leona, who is already fading, will ever be a star. The focus of the show is on the trainwreck factor, and the judges. The contestants are an afterthought. This is the way it is with all Cowell shows. If Olly tones up his body I think he will be the type who can have a career opening clubs and appearing in panto and stripping off for magazines. He or someone at the show obviously knew how many were voting based on his package. Edited February 1, 201016 yr by CarlD2
February 12, 201016 yr Member Jedward has a #2 UK single, and a #1 Irish single with "Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby) Featuring Vanilla Ice.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh_xhF5NsnY Edited February 13, 201016 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
March 16, 201016 yr Member Sony drops Jedward! They defied Simon Cowell’s scorn to land a record deal, but it looks like Jedward’s pop career may finally be over, with Sony giving them the boot after just one single. John and Edward Grimes, the 18-year-old twins who stormed last year’s The X Factor with big blonde quiffs, matching novelty outfits and a distinct lack of singing talent, were signed by Sony in January. But their debut single, Under Pressure, featuring Nineties rapper Vanilla Ice, was beaten to No 1 last month by US band Owl City and dropped out of the top 10 a week later. Louis Walsh, the judge who mentored the twins on The X Factor and who now manages them, confirmed that they had been dropped by Sony. http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/music/article7064230.ece
December 18, 201015 yr Member <span style="font-size:120%;">X Factor is damaging the music industry as it creates a "huge logjam which makes it really difficult for serious talent to get through," says Chris Wright, the founder and chairman of Chrysalis. Mr Wright, who is in the process of selling Chrysalis to BMG Rights Management for £107m, says the music industry “hates X Factor with a passion”. "People like Bob Dylan would struggle to get a break today, because they're stuck in this logjam. There's a difference between Van Gogh and someone who can do a passable vase of sunflowers using a painting by numbers kit," says Mr Wright. "All this mass of stuff just creates a logjam that stops other people from coming through. And because the record industry is under pressure, it becomes difficult to sustain your marketing on a truly talented, individualistic artist when you're up against everything that is coming out of The X Factor." http://www.telegraph...ght.html </span> Edited December 18, 201015 yr by Sylph
