Members y&r_fan
What I don't get is why Nelson waited until NOW to rip Y&R a new one. The show has somewhat improved in the last few weeks. Why wasn't Nelson ranting about it in July/August/September when it really WAS bad? Also, B&B is shamefully absent from his Top 4 Shows To Watch. B&B is better than any of the shows he listed (and so is Y&R, for that matter).
Members Vee
I've gotten oh so very tired of Nelson's vapid attacks on RSW and HBS (probably spurred by their getting his seat at the movies or double-dipping or something) and even more baseless nastiness towards poor Daphnee Duplaix, who has been very popular with OLTL fans. He only seems to attack her because she is not his girl Tika Sumpter, and Branco in his infinite, methed-out wisdom, has apparently decided there can only be one black woman with a story on the show. I like them both. There, I said it, Branco. Calling you out.
Members brimike
Careful, Vee - or "hunterforrester" will come over here to SON and rail against you about how he "knows daytime's elite" and "they come to him" and some crap about "his best friend Brandon Beemer" or "Vivica A. Fox" (not that she has anything to do with this, but SHE'S HIS FRIEND AND YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT, DAMNIT!!!!) LMAO!!!!!!!!
Members Cat
TA. I have found Y&R pretty watchable the last week or so. Not that there aren't HUGE problems and a general "attitude" that needs to be fixed but... so far I am watching without FFing. I don't understand why Nelson has been so slow on the draw here. Maybe he is behind in his viewing? Or maybe he's been bored for a while (he has barely mentioned the show in recent columns) and only now has decided to stick his toe in the water. Members MarkH
Or maybe, in this case, he follows trends instead of setting them? I like NB a lot...but he is (intentionally) intemperate. Sometimes that's a good thing...and sometimes it just seems unwise. He will lose his exclusive access to Y&R over this...but maybe that's not a bad thing for his column, or for the show. His column can become more even-handed across the daytime landscape, and Y&R can get more realistic press treatment rather than cheerleading. Members JimTolkien
Well this would be the 1st time I actually liked NB's comments and he was on point. Yes the show is watchable some parts of it but it is devoid of ENERGY and SUBSTANCE. It's just so-so and not the exciting and entertaining Y&R that I know. Whoever penned the line on the show when Phyllis was leaving RS and Chloe said "plenty of people want to move on from 2009" followed up by Nick with "hell yeah, bring on the new year" LOL ...pretty much echoes what apparently a lot of viewers and even the writers want to just put behind them. This has not been a very good year for the show, onscreen and backstage. Let's hope we are turning the corner somewhat.
