Members Juliajms
http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2009/10/26/abcs-flashforward-advertisers-jay-leno/ Interesting that Flash Forward is commanding high ad rates and I'm thrilled Jay Leno is not. Members Jonathan
That was an interesting read. Everyone keeps talking about Jay Leno and how he's not performing well ratings wise, but hardly anyone takes into consideration how much net profit he generates. This article for example only compares ad rates for 30 seconds spots but it doesn't give us the full picture of the amount of money the show actually nets once costs have been accounted for. Members JackPeyton
WOW, the biggest loser, the office, and 30 rock are by far the best paying nbc shows. i didnt expect that for TBL.
Administrator Toups Posted October 27, 2009 Administrator Share Posted October 27, 2009 I have last year's ad rates too, so when I have time I'm going to do the comparisons. Yeah, I read somewhere that NBC was going to make around 300 million off Leno because it's so cheap to produce.
Members DRW50
The problem with Leno is that it is hurting a lot of the local news outlets.
Members JackPeyton
the biggest problem with Leno is this... yes, he is cheap to make and brings in a lot. however, he has taken 5 primetime hours from them. shows like SVU are not doing well because they are not on the 10pm hour. Local news is falling at lightspeed because of his show. This is one of those... yes, he makes us a profit. is it worth it? on the flipside, nbc needs as much cash flow as they can.
