Members JimTolkien
Yep, I don't like this version of Victor either...plus not many will agree with this at this time but I love Victor & Nikki and want them back together. After almost 30 years together Eric & Melody still have the type of chemistry that I love to watch but Victor needs to do some apologizing (well apologizing in his own Victor-type way ). Their reconcilation has felt rushed because of the contract talks so they'd better be signing MTS back pronto or I will not be happy viewer. I think the writing had started to make a turn with him telling Nikki she is the heart of the family and she has never given up on him and the children, yada, yada. But Victor needs to slowly mend his relationship with some members of his family - I am eager to see if that happens now. But for me he can wreak havoc on the rest of GC all he wants!! Eric better say a BIG FAT THANKS to the fans of the show for the next 3 years!!!
Members CSF
I think Y&R would be better off without Victor. I was actually looking forward to Braeden's exit.
Members DRW50
I would rather see Nikki in another storyline, but they've made it clear that isn't going to happen. So if they deign to keep MTS, then I hope they will write stories for Nikki and Victor which are actually about them as a couple, and not about her being pathetic or desperate and his true love being Ashley. EB and ED were the definition of anti-chemistry on her return, and really, I have never seen a lot there in the first place.
Members CSF
That's why I was hoping EB/Victor were officially over and done. IMO, I know many claim that Y&R will collapse without TGVN and that so many characters revolve around him, but I feel the opposite. I think without Victor, it would be a great time to keep MTS and revisit her romance with Paul. Recast Victoria with a good actress and bring Heather Stevens back and have some drama between Victoria and Heather by reintroducing one of Victoria's old flames and having them fight over him. Give JT a rest, and keep him in NY. This would be a great time to rebuild the Abbott family and Jill as well. Don't just bring in Russ and Davine, but bring back a Y&R diva like Lorie Brooks and start a hostile take over of NE. And not just have the Abbott's try to take it over, have Lorie stage a take over and use those two men to help her. This would also be a great time to rebuilt the Winter's family. Send Thom Birdz back to Australia. Have Nina return to California. Have Jill work to rebuild Jabot and pair her with either WR or WD. It's clear that MAB & Co. have caused a lot of damage, so have other writers to all the current soaps on the air. However, I do not believe for one second that the soaps cannot be saved. All they need is a competent regime in place. I actually think getting rid of Victor and detaching so many characters from him would really help the show. Members MarkH
Absolutely. He said 'I don't love you". Having her "rescue" Victor upon her return was a potentially interesting twist, but turning it to "love" this time around was a huge mistake. Members DRW50
I don't think Nina and JT are detriments to the show, I think they should keep them and give them stories. I would send Victoria away for at least six months before they recast. The character is worn down to nothing and I don't trust this group to find any good recasts. They haven't successfully recast a character in quite a while (I don't count Billy because this isn't Billy in any way but name). I would have loved to have seen MTS stay on the show on her own, and get stories on her own, but that doesn't seem likely. It seems like this team sees Nikki as Victor or nothing. I'd like to see Lorie Brooks again, or bring in some of the Foster brothers.
Members MarkH
I agree with sending Viki away. I wouldn't resurrect any Brooks or Fosters...not until the cast is 50% of its current size. Same with Nina--I have really enjoyed her, but i don't want her (or P3) back until they will be written for.
Members DRW50
You're probably right about Nina. I still think she should stay around and be a utility player, a strong supporting presence who can appear a few times a month. The show needs that, as the newbies are basically drowning. I'd only bring back some Fosters or Brooks once they start to cut some of the dead weight. I do think there's a big opening, especially with reactivating Jill. Members DeeeDee
TPTB should be BEGGING Tricia to sign a contract.
Members dragonflies
According to TV Guide's Michael Logan: Several of EB's co-stars are annoyed at the attention he's getting and are unhappy he's coming back to the set and can't keep their yaps shut about it. He goes on to say EB is the best thing about Y&R and always has been.
Members CSF
I don't blame them for being pissed. And honestly, he is not the best thing about Y&R, he is one of the worst things!
Members DRW50
What a feat for Braeden to always be the best thing about Y&R when he was not on the show for the first six years of its life. I'm so sick of this guy and the hype.
Members dm.
The only thing that really bothers me about this is that even though his colleagues hate him, he's keeping the job, while Victoria Rowell has almost the same situation and there's no way she would get her job back. Is it because she's a woman or because she's a part of the Winters family? Whatever it is, it's shameful.
Members Ann_SS
VR should not have quit and the bad mouth her co-workers. She was a fool. She thought she was far more valuable to Y&R than she was actually was. It isn't fair, but it is life. Everyone isn't equal for a variety of reasons in any work situation. You can be the hardest and best worker, but not be appreciated because you are not the boss' favorite.I know this from experience. You have to know your place in the work environment and act accordingly. I can't stand that Sony let EB come back tail tuck between his legs, but what can you do? We are stuck with him until Y&R is cancelled or he cannot work any more.
