I guess TPTB felt that having the diner and Company was redundant. Given the choice I'm glad they chose to keep Company since that setting was there since the Marland days when it was the Wired for Sound club.

I guess Buzz winning the lottery was to give him capital to invest in his business. They continued treating him as middle-class compared to Spauldings, Marlers and Bauers.

I think Fletcher was just part of Rauch's culling that included Bridget. Fletcher had a good run. In '97- I was like "he's still on?", so he was definitely deadwood.

Another one of his early memorable stories was when him and Maureen went down to Beiruit and Ed knocked up Fletcher's girlfriend Claire (with Michelle). Fletcher and Mo had a radio talk show for some reason. This was in '85 when crazy nurse Charlotte Rampling was trying to destroy Ed's life for no apparent reason, before being murdered by her tv reporter sister for some reason. Yes, 1985 was a banner year for the show. Lol

@alwaysAMC re: abigail, that's the medical leave I was hinting at-- the actress irl got a cochlear implant. They were new at the time and there was somewhat of a debate in the deaf community over it. They are building up to writing that into the show.

Yes! I'm excited for this. I'm happy she's getting this storyline and they're doing something with Abby and Rick again. It's been far too long.

I was just thinking, I wonder if they chose to burn the diner down to make room for the new San Cristobel sets? I haven't really seen them yet, but I assume they're coming and likely big. Between that and the new Santos family mansion, they had to cut out some of the existing sets. We haven't seen WSPR in forever, we haven't see Ross's office in forever... and I bet Holly's house gets cut. I haven't seen the Lewis Oil set in a bit.

Wired For Sound and Company were completely separate entities. The only thing they had in common was that Tony ran them both.

Vanessa owned Wired For Sound. If it had been Company, she probably would have torched it herself to try and get rid of the Reardons. At the time, she was mean enough to do it--or at least threaten to.

You're probably right. With half the cast semi-permanentlly based in ChristoHell for the next three years there's little chance of them dropping by Meals and Wheels for breakfast.

THREE years? Goodness, that's wild. I'm curious to see what other characters will be there beyond just Reva/Josh/Cassie (my assumption), and why they're there.

Well, I may have exaggerated a bit. But you had Richard, Cassie, Edmund, Olivia, Colonel Dax ( you'll know him as OLTL's Carlo Hesser), Beth down there. Reva and Josh must be there a bit. Phillip would drop by, I think the Santos bum down there now and then...it's honestly ridiculous. But it's been forever since I watched any of it. There was a big common area, and a patio setting that I recall, but there must've also been bedrooms.

At some point Richard steps down and moves to Springfield, but it's not long after that he dies.

Ahhh - so a handful of new characters are coming. I know of Olivia, but didn't realize she's from San Cristobel! Well, we'll see how I feel haha. )

More like an invasion, but I digress.
