Another well promoted Guza stunt brings in the ratings for a temporary bump. This is why the man will never be fired. I thought GH's 18-49 women demo would have done better though.

There was a soapnet.com promo call in a video aimed particularly at (Jason/Elizabeth) fans...and there was an active campaign since that video w/Carolyn Hennesey to get their viewers who have tuned out to tune back in and we did I'm not saying its the "sole" reason esp since the other soaps also rose

...here is a ABC response to the "August BlackOut campaign"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQptjqZpXKI&feature=player_embedded

Just saying

Fans who haven't watched the show in over a year tuned in because they had a Jake/Elizabeth/Jason story so they problaby gave them a few #s

...I like Dante/Dominic he was awesome saving Morgan and they have a fanbase that love them together on boards I post.

..... Edward Q. again if they play the vets eg Nancy Lee Grahn's Alexis played out, (with a promo she hadn't been in a promo in years)

so did some scenes with Monica previous to the Carnival. Johnny stepped up to the plate and got down for his dust in some scenes with the Spin... I liked Martha Byrne's Andrea character ...sorry to see her go...

their last two stunts were a bust (BioToxin) with the (overnight) mustache twirling villan Trevor :D also Jason wasn't in his cape cruasder 'here I come to save the day' (with Mighty Mouse) perils of Pauline crap...

The hospital part w/Scrubs was featured too they even allowed Matt to breathe a little air...

which I've waited for...it was better than BioToxin

Le Carnivale

It was also the only soap ABC heavily promoted during the Emmys, and those Carnival promos were all over ABC prime-time for a few weeks leading up to it. Granted, it was usually during Grey's Anatomy's re-runs and the like, so I'm sure the spots were a LOT cheaper (being that it was re-runs). But still, goes to show what a little money spent on promotion will do.

I'm very glad for OLTL. Last week was a bit of a mess but the main story was still about heroes (and how often do we see those on soaps??) and I am happy viewers responded.

Was able to do the ratings today. :)

Yay!! Thanks Toups!!

I just wish that GL had done better. This week's rating should definitely rise!

I was expecting ATWT going down in HH ranking. It was on only 3 days last week. I can't believe Y&R went up. Why did the ABC soaps go up so high?? OLTL had the whole Todd and shooting stuff..but what was so great about AMC last week??

GL...let's hope it goes out with a 1.6 next week.

That promo also aired on MTV, VH1, E!, Style, and various other networks im sure.

The GH Promo was fantastic. The sweep stunt was good. GH deserved to go up, just like it deserves to fall after its over.

Yay for Days tho! Still gaining people, still up over last year!

Was this the week for Tennis on CBS? If so, I bet ATWT will rebound nicely next week. The show is building up a bit of mojo - nice to see after months of trash. I wonder if this could be the infusion of new writing talent (although they shoot so far in advance, not clear when that effect would be felt). Whoever snached Paul from the 'completely insane, all the time, a waste to even pay attention to him' to someone that resembles a human being should be applauded :-) There also seems to be less concentration on why 'Luke and Noah' and 'Casey and Alison' are breaking up today - as if anyone still cares.
