@Paul Raven I think the source of the Allens appearing in 1966 is actual episodes. I believe they are part of the set of episodes from the summer of 1966 that have been circulating. If not, I think it's a summary of episode available at the Paley Center. Prior to that episode appearing, I don't think any of the Allens had been mentioned or if they had been no time period had been assigned to them.

So Kitty Allen appeared in 1966 and 1967.

@FrenchFan Thank you for sharing these. I appreciate seeing how the pacing works in individual episodes. It seems like these episodes are lots of repetition of exposition even though they are so short. What are your thoughts on the episodes?

Way back when, a trader friend sent me three, 2-hour VHS tape of SFT from the summer of 1966. I'm trying to remember the total number of episodes I received. I believe she recorded nine on each tape, so a total of 27. I thought that was a huge amount. I don't recall any trader or fan referencing a whopping 40 episodes from that year (great as that would have been).

I've seen it listed as 2 DVDS with 21 episodes on each DVD for a total of 42. However, it's entirely possible it is 21 episodes on 2 DVDs and the person wrote it wrong. I imagine that the source would probably be the same source for the "Guiding Light" episodes from the same period so it may be more likely that it is only 21 and the other DVD is actually the GL episodes.

Chiming in to say that I had these Summer '66 SFT episodes at one point, purchased years and years ago on Ebay on VHS.  Unfortunately, at some point they somehow got accidentally recorded over.  Being as it's been so long since I watched the episodes, I can't remember anything in any extensive detail, but the episodes were very heavy on Len, Patti, Nick, & Emily.  I actually found the episodes more engaging than the GL episodes from the same time period and I really enjoyed Melissa Murphy's Patti.  40+ episodes seems excessive and, from my recollection, it's more like around 20 because they were all on one long playing VHS.

    • I’m trying to think which actors VW were working with at the time, and none of them had been there for a while. Even like Mac and Ada didn’t have that big of a part in Rachel’s storyline.  And Jamie was involved with all that movie stuff.
    • Brooke did ads before ATWT too. That probably helped get her the job. After ATWT she seemed to branch more into hosting, along with ads.  I think I saw Kelley in an ad or two, but you're right she wasn't on as much.
    •   Thanks for sharing these. I wonder if Charles might have been in the running for Adam. I know Preacher was a bit of a bad boy at times on EON, but Neal seemed to be a step down, and Robert Lupone had played a similar part on AMC. Given the huge cast turnover at this point I wonder who thought they had been there long enough to go.  Laura Malone/Chris Rich would get a remote within the next year.
    • Interesting.  It seems to allude to that statement that Warren Burton made around that time about some AW actors getting special treatment.  I wonder who was resentful about not getting to go.

    • Under all of Madonna's social media today there is this wave of negative, toxic, absurd comments by Lady Gaga fans telling her how Gaga surpassed her in concert in Copacabana. I mean... Who the hell cares? Why are these fan communities so freaking toxic??? I'm sure Madonna doesn't care... But still. Have some respect for M. Leave her social media alone. Go cheer Gaga and be happy. Why come and spew hate on M??? Crazy world.
    • FYI, again, Ruth/Letitia is not in either of these 2 episodes. So that concludes the 4 episodes I had from Nov. 1983. I don't have the October episodes.
    • Eddie has begun uploading the 1990 episodes. I'm so happy about that. I was mindfully taking a break till there's plenty of episodes I can binge watch when I feel like it. Now that 1989 is complete... I can't wait to press play on February 1989 and resume where I left off.

Me when someone asks me to be proper and demure.
    • This is just a guess but I feel like the fact that they keep mentioning her dead husband is for a reason. We know Martin has a secret that likely involved someone dying. Martin's victim could be Alan which Leslie/Dana either knows about or finds out and she uses that to blackmail the family into letting her crimes slide.
