Career Crumbling

http://perezhilton.com/2009-08-12-career-crumbling-mariah-cancels-big-appearances

Fans who requested tickets to Mariah Carey's August 28th performance on the Today show received an email today (see above) stating that Mimoo cancelled on NBC and has been replaced with Miley Cyrus!!!

Not a good sign! Especially with a new album supposedly coming out next month!

To add insult to injury, Carey is also noticeably absent from the list of performers at this year's MTV VMA's!

The songstress was originally scheduled to perform at the September awards in NYC, but Mariah's name has been left off the latest press release!

What gives????

MiMi Postpones Again! Possibly...

http://perezhilton.com/2009-08-13-mimi-postpones-again-possibly

Okay, what's the deal Mariah Carey? Your wiling to do your husband's crappy talent show, but not anything legit? Where is the logic in that?

So far, Miz MiMi has canceled on the Today Show, VH1 Storytellers, the MTV Video Music Awards, and receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

That latter is just stupid! You don't even have to sing! You just have to stand there and look pretty! Surely, you can handle that!

While Mariah's management continues to stay mum about the cancelled events, some are suggesting that the reason behind all the cancellations is in direct correlation to the possible SECOND postponement of her Mariah's latest album. It might come to be that Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel will not be released on September 15, 2009, but at a later, currently unknown date.

But why? That's just silly! Maybe there will be a song on there that is better than Obsessed. You won't know till you try!

C'mon Mariah. Cut the crap and just release the damn thing!

I think it's that, coupled with "The Warning."

I really hope, for Mariah's sake, that those pictures don't exist. "Bagpipes in Baghdad" heavily alludes to a menage-a-trois with another woman.

Mariah really should have just left Eminem alone. I would have been perfectly content staying in a Lamb mentality believing that they never did anything together. I kind of lost respect and love for her after The Emancipation of Mimi, an album I believe is her first album of pure and utter crap. Knowing that she cut the Walter Afanasieff ballads from her album makes me even less excited about Memoirs, not that "Obsessed" really inspired me to want to go out and buy it anyway.

Someone should just go ahead and release the damn thing to Rapidshare already. Save us the trouble of waiting to hear how awful this one's gonna be.

"MaryAnn! MaryAnn saying 'Cut the tape! Cut the tape!' KNIFE!"

LOL. Well, here's how it went down...

Mariah denied dating Eminem after Luis Miguel in 2001/02 during the whole Glitter/Meltdown. Mariah told members of the press and fans that she'd been with as many guys as she could count on less than one hand.

Eminem was getting considerable airplay for Superman, which was a diss on Mariah. She countered that with the song, Clown, from her Charmbracelet album, which didn't get airplay. Eminem then decided to use clips of Mariah Carey voicemails during tour shows, in which she proceeded to threaten legal action against him. Things cooled considerably until the release of Bagpipes In Baghdad from his recent album, where he raps about missing Mariah and saying how did it all go wrong, etc. and tells Nick he can have the effing wh*re or something to that effect.

THEN, Mariah counters with her song and video for Obsessed, where she plays and mocks Eminem.

That's where The Warning comes in, where Eminem, in "pornographic" detail recalls sex with the divine Ms. Carey, alluding to her cheating on Luis Miguel with him, and using actual voicemail clips that say things like, "I want you," "Superherrrrrooooooooo," and "MaryAnn, MaryAnn sayin' 'Cut the tape. Cut the tape.' Knife!"

I seriously don't think her locking herself away has to do with the lagging sales. I think it has more to do with avoiding questions about her relationship with Eminem.

Nonetheless, here's the clip:

Is Obsessed doing well on the charts? What gets me is, this "affair" (or whatever you wanna call it) between Mariah and Em happened 8 years ago and yet both can't let go of the past  Eminem keeps wanting to remind people that he and Mariah had something, and Mariah keeps doing her best to deny his stories. I heard Em's Warning song and I was :o at this content. But that's Eminem for ya.

Yep. And when everyone has the album, who wants to buy it on iTunes?

And a couple of extra songs? Is she gonna make another diss track about Eminem? Or is she not working on it at all, rather she needs time for people to forget about Eminem's diss track? They'll never forget.

I just want her to lie about it again so Eminem can destroy her life.

Just realized Mariah's gonna be going head-to-head with Madge's definitive collection release(September 29, 2009). She picked a bad time to release her CD. The gays are gonna push their dollars to Madonna. She resonates more. She better hope that no R&B stars release their stuff on the 29th. Otherwise, she'll really be wondering what love is.

Classic clip. Always entertaining.

I'm pretty sure the postponements have nothing to do with eminem and more to do with Mariah scrambling to record more songs or refine already recorded songs. early reviews from listening parties in Hong Kong and in the UK were basically mediocre and response was lukewarm.

But this is what i kinda expected when she decided to get THE DREAM to executive produce her album. MISTAKE.

    • I have no idea why Gio would go to Sonny first since he told Emma he thought Sonny knew about him all along. Maybe to clarify if Sonny knew?  Considering Sonny didn't know Dante was his son back then it doesn't really matter. I am sure Sonny will make some wise parallel about his father leaving and his mother dying or being lied to by Olivia and Gio will see the light.
    • I know I have heard Orpheus mention it, at least in passing.  I still don't know why exactly he hates John though.  It seems Orpheus was heavily leaning into a Stefano moment of Marlena obsession, but then he always wanted to murder her a bunch so it's unclear.
    • I always thought that whoever pitched his return story in 2016 just didn't do their homework, and didn't know that the real Roman was the one who killed Orpheus' wife.
    • Xander is Victor's son, but thought he was his nephew until Victor's will.  His mom is an alcoholic who ran Sarah down then left town.  He's got a kid with Sarah and then is related to the rest of the Kiriakis brood. I would argue Orpheus lost his purpose years ago.  I lost the plot with Orpheus when his entire beef was with John and not Roman.  The person who actually killed his wife. Too be kind I'll just say it looks like Chandler was a bit out of practice at the old acting game.  He's never stopped smirking.
    • He is Victor's son so Bo and Philip are his brothers and Brady and Shawn are his nephews. Justin has remained his first cousin

    • -- I didn't want to be the first person to mention it, because I've complained so much about Chandler Massey's smirking and grinning in the past. He just cannot get through a scene without breaking -- that grin broke through every time he ran into another character today. He looks young -- and good -- but I am not a fan of this acting. He's not trying. -- I agree with others here about this goodbye. The bandaged John is a throwback and a full circle moment, but it's gone on too many days already. I especially hate the "He's getting better" stuff. That doesn't work since we all know how this ends. -- I'm glad to see the return of all these characters and I love the flashbacks, but I think DAYS could have done all that without the bandaged exit.
    • That's the one thing I really dislike about all this. Orpheus should not be alive.  If anything, I hope he's erased from existence from here on. He has no purpose now that John is dead.
    • Yeah, it's so undignified. And looked it! But man, you can tell Stephen Nichols, etc. are not acting. They should've canned the fake voice guy at the very least. Great, now I have to try to remember who the fúck Xander is related to.
    • I am the first to say I don't have the perfect scenario for John's death in my head.  I think it would have had something to do with saving the world from Orpheus and killing Orpheus once and for all, but losing his own life in the effort. I am actually sad Orpheus is still alive and well doing dastardly deeds.  I GET the saving Bo idea.  I just am not sure I want to say, "Oh, yeah, John died in a meth lab.  Some kid attacked him and he burned to death" I love all the actors coming back to pay tribute.  It's lovely.  I think it would have been smarter for Marlena, Kayla, etc to say this is grave for John-it's time to say goodbye.  Not add in all the "he's doing great and on the road to recovery".  I assume it's a nod to Drake about always fighting, but, man, if you didn't know Drake had passed the rug would be pulled out from under you next week as an audience member.
