It's official, I have STOPPED watching Y&R. I'm done.

Welcome to the club.

I stop wathcing Y&R for three years. Because I saw their downfall coming a mile away.

So none of you is watching yet you're all commenting in the episodes thread?

aML just decided to stop watching, give him a break.

dmarex reads the detailed episode spoilers, so I can excuse him.

Mo's commentary was mostly off-topic though.

I've been laying low. I have been attacked numerous times this past week on these boards and I don't want to deal with it, so I am trying to refrain from posting too much.

Like Y&Rworld turns says, I expect a massive rating erosion as well. It's already in the works. So many people are tuning out.

Syplh what soaps do u watch? i see you post about a lot about soaps but I never hear about what shows you watch?

I read every single detailed recap and go through the transcripts later on to fit the episode counts, plus I check some stuff out on YouTube if it makes me interested.

However, I have no intention of wasting an entire episode worth of my time if I'm only going to be depressed about watching it. I removed myself off the board various times when I didn't watch.

I was just interested, that's all. No sarcasm involved. :)

But seriously guys, if some of you feel it's inappropriate to comment if I don't actually watch the entire episode, I wouldn't mind not commenting here (after all, everyone says it's much different reading what's up and actually watching the entire thing).

I would still like to know pls what soaps you watch. Based upon other posters, I can figure out what soaps they watch. But you I can't put my finger on

I enjoy your post dmarex. Don't let one person not let you post here. Don't empower NO ONE like that

I have no objections. People can post whatever they want to.

You know Y&R is in trouble when:

1. No one is interested in the spoilers any more. Not even to laugh and b!tch about them.

2. The episodes thread is dead man walking.

3. Many of the staunchest Maria apologetics don't watch or bother commenting.

But ratings have yet to reflect in in a substantial way.

Ur right. This is what I'm waiting for. When will it reflect in the ratings? With out this there will NEVER be a writing change

Oh I didn't intend to let anyone do that, I just wanted to know what posters usually think of someone that doesn't actually watch the show anymore.

This is just so sad and true.

It seems a lot of old time viewers are abandoning the show while new viewers from other shows who are used to the kind of stuff Y&R is serving are enjoying it. I've seen so many "I'm a _____ viewer or used to be a ________ viewer and am new to Y&R and really enjoy it and don't see why so many are complaining." type of posts over this past year or more in various places.

Those people will eventually abandon the show too, they're fluke viewers who have no loyalty to the show. When something else in the near future crosses their eye, they'll jump on that.

Whereas the loyal viewers will continue to watch and hope for a better writing team.

As I mentioned in the main episode thread, I'm appalled by how horrible the dialogue on Y&R has gotten and how badly constructed the scenes are. The day to day writing is awful, so not only does this show need a better Head Writer, it needs better staff writers as well.
