Can anyone recommend any good books on soap operas?

I am especially interested in reading about the creation of and history of soaps in general, about the creators and writers of the shows.

Also are there any biographies/autobiographies especially of any creators, writers and soap stars?

Thanks

"Eight Years in Another World," by former AW headwriter Harding Lemay is the finest soap book ever written, hands down.

I had the Dynasty book, with a foreward by Esther Shapiro, when I was a tween. God, I loved that book. I brought that baby into grade school and I was the most popular girl in my class that day. Also, one particularly smouldering picture of Adam (Gordon Thomson) was gently worn away on account of me kissing it. Sigh. It was a more innocent time!

Soap World by Robert LaGuardia is an oldy but a goody.

The Soap Opera Book of Lists by Gerald Waggett is also fun, lots of behind-the-scenes trivia, soaps that never happened, original choices for characters, character inspirations...
