I dont think they should bring him back, at least for a year.

I really hope they bring her in, maybe pair her with Daniel or someone. Then over time build up to Carly & Bo.

All I want is a triangle with Carly/Bo/Hope - it's the perfect triangle with no bad guys. But for this to happen, Bo and Hope have to break up NOW or at least start to have problems. I'm going to send my good vibes to Tomlin and hope he does this storyline right.

Um...haven't you gotten the memo? Dena is off somewhere enjoying a paycheck while having absolutely nothing to do with writing the show right now. Every thing GOOD that is on our tv screens right now is thanks to Chris Whitesell and Gary Tomlin. At least that's my theory. It was probably Chris's idea to bring her back in the first place. Dena couldn't come up with good ideas for a soap if the cure for her autistic son depended on it!!

I really dont mean to push dan/carly, trust me i want bo/carly. But i dont want her going after a married man. i dont want her coming back and being tossed right at him. I hope they establish her a bit before going there. They have done a fairly decent job of this and hope to see them do it here too.

Im not claiming you are not correct, but what makes you think this? Because there is a lot going on that reminds of Dena type stories given what she told the last time she was HW and her time at OLTL.

They need to explain Carly's memoury problem first, before she's thrown at Bo. When she left, she didn't have any memouries of being with Bo. She'll either come back with her memoury in tact, or it will slowly happen to her over time as her feelings for Bo resurface.

TV Guide Magazine is reporting that Crystal Chappell is returning to Days and her role of Carly Manning. She starts taping in September.

I'm an Otalia fan at GL and I will miss that pairing but I was a CC fan first. I loved her as Carly on Days so I'm excited about this news. I wonder how they will bring her back after such a long absence.

That's how I remember it too. Its been so long but I thought Carly started to have feelings again for Lawrence when he nursed her back to health. She wanted to try and make a family with Lawrence and Nikki and that is why she left Bo.

oh im sure Lawrence will resurface in Salem and when you have Lawrence+Carly+Victor you know a certain firey red head will not be far behind to stir up problems im their life!!! I wonder if this means NBC is putting money on this show once again....or by giving Dee Hall the axe freed up Millions?

Dena's work is definitely still present. The scene last week where Brady used Melanie's bra to boost the signal was reminiscent of the scene of Duke and Adriana escaping their Argentinian captors. Also Rafe Hernandez's entire history and placement in the canvas is similar to how Higley incorporated Nash Brennan into the canvas. The way Arianna was weaved in, as a background character with a contract, is reminiscent of Hugh Hughes introduction. Dena's stamp is all over various parts of the material, as is Chris Whitsell's. The Daniel/Chloe storyline is the kind of campy thing Broderick/Whitsell cooked up on "One Life to Live" and Kinsey and Tad remind me of Amy and Brad from "Sunset Beach".

Also am I the only one who sees Crystal Chappell's return as nothing more than Gretel Rae part II? I'm absolutely loving "Days of our Lives" right now, but I really don't see this as a return to the past. I think Gary Tomlin is wanted Crystal Chappell on the canvas, not necessarily Carly Manning. I don't see any other Alamains outside of Nicky returning. There is no way Vivian fits with the current vision for "Days of our Lives" as it is at the moment, and molding Vivian into more of a Augusta Lockridge redux would probably fail miserably. I don't think fans would be happy if Vivian did return.

As happy as I am that Chappell is returning to "Days of our Lives", I don't have any expectations on how she will be incorporated into the canvas. As much as I loved Carly, Carly was too innocent for Chappell to play now after spending years in the role of Olivia. I suspect Carly, if not initially then at some point, will become a bit bitter, a bit jaded, and ultimately not the person most people remember Carly as.

Gretel was a supporting character 20 years before she suddenly dropped in on various ABC soaps as a lead, clogging 4 shows up with her entitled attitude and boring mystery about her child. There was huge fanfare for a character most viewers had no reason to remember or care about.

Carly was a lead on DAYS for several years, and while much has changed since then, she still has a few ties to the show and she's played by an actress who can play just about anything. I also haven't seen DAYS trumpeting this as huge news or saying CC will be the new star of the show.

I think Carly almost has to be different than she was before, and people will probably accept that, as long as she doesn't become some sort of slut, or lunatic.

I dont think the Carly manning coming back to Salem will be much like she was before, and thats not a bad thing. Its been almost 20 years.... they can pretty much take her any direction they want and use her tiome away to do it.

I reall dont see any one from her past when she was on days coming back tho, aside from maybe Nicky if they need someone in a age range.
