Now I don't know what's better: the threads we had last year when a very few discussed the episodes, or now when a lot of people discuss too much.

There is no such thing of too much discussion about the show, imo. But all this bizarre psychoanalyzing of each others reasons for liking or disliking of things is bizarre and completely OT.

Interesting. I'm starting to wonder if you have attentional issues?? You highlight the part where I explain my history with the show, and you ignore the part where I discuss the positive and negative views I've held of stories.

Is this a cognitive issue, or does it suit some agenda (which is stupid--why would someone have an agenda on a MESSAGE BOARD???) to be selective?

Turnabout. What is YOUR history with Y&R, Sylph? (I know..."nevermind').

The latter part didn't interest me, Mark! And there you go again, offending people, calling them id!ots veiledly!

You just didn't understand what I asked you: I said how much nostalgia and lost time had to do with your satisfaction, and you said: Very much (reminding you of people and situations where you've been at the time).

Well yes, that included all the OT stuff too.

This post is very OT too.

And all those fights too...

It was very relevant. It put things into perspective.

It was your opinion on someone else's reasons for liking what they like. It doesn't matter why people have a particular opinion. It doesn't invalidate the fact that some people like the show right now. Just like no one can invalidate your reasons for not liking it. Now stop dragging me into the madness, damn you!

And, I love how I'm just another "negative poster" now. I guess people selectively forget that I was very positive about this show from November to March, when it was, you know, decent and good.

This show lost me somewhere in April and it hasn't won me back since.

But telling other people that they are always happy and will accept anything isn't an argument either. Can't we just stick to analyzing the minutia of the show instead of worrying about why other posters feel the way they do?

Thank you. I really try to resist the bait. I do. Sometimes I go hours not responding to critiques of me, my fandom, or my posting style. But it's hard.

I shall endeavor to extinguish these responses.

I'd love a "social contract here": "Though shalt not comment on another poster's style, biases, etc." If we all lived by that nu-Golden Rule, the threads would be much shorter and more substantive.

Geez, someone just start a "Y&r: Who do you want as HW" thread, instead of talking about it here all the time. LOL I won't because I support MAB. :)

I like her too, flaws and all, but what do I know.

Is it too much work to drag the mouse arrow to click "New Topic," create a new title, put in a catchy phrase for the subtitle, add a smiley face, and type up an inspiring few sentences?

But your last two posts aren't?

Of course they are.

When I said "This post if also OT" I was talking about my own post.

Geesh, I make one mistake and already this.....

Ew, no! Than we would have people on vengeful rampage blabbering about their favourites and their agendas! Horrible! The board would die in no time!

No, I wasn't trying to be mean. I'm sitting hear laughing my ass off at all of us.

Which is something I suggest everyone does!

Dmarex, love your avatar. I wish we could get back to that.

One way: What if Heather became Adam's partner in crime? What if she was so addicted to his love, she joined him...willingly. He held her in a kind of thrall, and she lost herself to help him gaslight and scheme.

If it didn't seem abusive...i.e., she was willing...it would be kind of hot.

One other thing: Strategically, I think it was STUPID not to show at least a HINT of Thom Bierdz today.

Monday numbers are usually best, and the Friday cliffhanger should have led to more "tune-in". I think they should have gratified that wish...they could still have stretched the plot, but a hint of P3 would have kept them tuning in Tuesday, too.
